VOV.VN - Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, a group of artists in Hanoi recently organized a charity music night called "My Homeland" to raise money to support people in mountainous areas who have just experienced historic floods.
The initiator of this music night is folk artist Duong Bao Quang. Coming from a rural area of Thanh Hoa, he understands the hardships of farmers who work hard all year round. Their only assets are a simple house, a buffalo, a flock of chickens, etc. Therefore, when the storm and flood swept through, the highland farmers lost everything. Sympathizing with that loss, responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front , as well as joining hands with people from all over the country, folk artist Duong Bao Quang discussed with singer Anh Tho to organize this charity music night.
Singer Anh Tho immediately accepted and was very excited and enthusiastic. She shared: “Tho has already supported the flood victims with 20 million, but still wants to use her small efforts to continue supporting them. The music night My Homeland is not only about sharing, but it also has practical meaning in calling on everyone to donate material to support the flood victims”. In addition to Anh Tho, the music night also received enthusiastic participation from singers Siu Black, Ho Quang 8, Sao Mai Champion Luong Nguyet Anh, Bolero Idol Champion Trung Quang, Sao Mai Runner-up Le Viet Anh, singer - MC Viet Tu, Thanh Nam, Hung Min, Hoang Thuy and MC Thuy Duong who is in charge of hosting the program.
The music night was both calm and touching, and also exciting and youthful because of the diversity of many musical personalities and genres. If Anh Tho and Luong Nguyet Anh were passionate and emotional with songs about the sweet countryside with folk melodies, Ho Quang 8, Trung Quang, and Le Viet Anh were passionate with lyrical music, followed by Siu Black's "fiery" performance as a strong, optimistic resilience to overcome storms, and Viet Tu brought vibrant, cheerful melodies as a wish for people to quickly overcome difficulties and losses to rebuild their lives.
The concert raised 170 million VND and the organizers immediately transferred it to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee during the concert. Folk artist Duong Bao Quang shared: “Although the concert was successful and raised some money, although not too much, it was the sentiment of the artists and the audience who wanted to share with the people in the flooded areas. However, I still want to go there to help the people.”
Folk artist Duong Bao Quang and his close friends then brought 200 million VND in cash and gifts (worth more than 300 million VND) to directly give to the people in Lao Cai. Here, Duong Bao Quang and his close friends personally handed over 10 million VND and gifts to each family that suffered heavy losses. After that, the group went to Yen Bai to give 220 gifts worth 100 million VND and 200 million VND in cash to the families that suffered losses in the flood. “When we got there, we saw how much the people had lost, which we could not fully understand through the news and the media. My heart ached. That was the reason why my friends and I wanted to go there to give to the people. Even though the amount of money and gifts was not large, it was the sentiment that I and everyone wanted to share with the people, and we hope that the people will quickly rebuild their lives to stabilize soon,” folk artist Duong Bao Quang shared.
