Chelsea were crowned champions of the tournament in the United States last July, beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Their success in the tournament earned the club an estimated $114.6 million (£84.4 million).

According to The Athletic, Chelsea will allocate an amount equivalent to 11.4 million pounds to be divided equally among Enzo Maresca's students participating in the tournament.

And the Blues players and officials have decided to donate part of their bonuses to support the families of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva.

The total value of each share is more than $500,000 (£368,000) before the cost of converting currency from US dollars to GBP, in addition to the costs associated with employers, taxes and social security costs.

Chelsea's move was hailed by fans as a noble gesture. After the announcement was made, fans were full of praise for The Blues on social media platforms.

Last month, striker Jota (Liverpool) and Penafiel’s brother Andre Silva (Portugal) passed away in a traffic accident in Zamora province (Spain) on July 3. This news shocked the world sports community.

Liverpool recently announced plans to build a memorial sculpture at Anfield, while the Reds' players will wear the "Forever 20" logo on their shirts and stadium jackets throughout the 2025–26 season.
