Two scientific research projects have been approved.

(CT) - On May 29th, the Scientific Council organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City unanimously approved the research project "Study on the use of NaP1 zeolite material from rice husk ash to treat wastewater from the seafood processing industry". The project is led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, M.Sc., and is implemented by Can Tho University of Technology from 2024-2026.

Zeolite NaP1 material from rice husk ash is a type of artificial mineral synthesized by utilizing the abundant silica source from agricultural waste.

The research team successfully synthesized NaP1 zeolite material with optimized parameters, demonstrating significant nitrate removal capabilities. They also developed a 420-liter/batch/hour experimental model using NaP1 zeolite in treating seafood processing wastewater, achieving a capacity of 10 m³/day. The results showed that NaP1 simultaneously treated total nitrogen and total phosphorus in seafood processing wastewater with the highest treatment efficiency. The study also used NaP1-N as a nitrogen fertilizer for 30 days, showing no significant difference in plant growth compared to using commercial urea fertilizer. This determined the feasibility of reusing adsorbed NaP1 zeolite material in nutrient recirculation models, minimizing pollution and improving fertilizer efficiency in agriculture. Furthermore, a method for reusing the material after waste adsorption was proposed.

- On the same day, the Scientific Council organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City unanimously approved the research project: "Improving the quality of political theory training to meet the requirements of the new situation in Hau Giang province." The project was carried out by the Can Tho City Political School before the merger of provinces and cities; Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Loan was the project leader.

The study has relatively comprehensively systematized the theoretical basis of intermediate-level political theory training and training quality in the context of the "new situation," clarifying concepts, subjects, characteristics, and requirements commensurate with the task. Based on this foundation, the study has developed a comprehensive and inclusive framework of criteria for evaluating training quality. Through sociological surveys and in-depth interviews with various target groups, the study has relatively objectively reflected the current state of intermediate-level political theory training quality in Hau Giang province during the period 2015-2025. Based on the analysis of the current situation and influencing factors, the study has developed a model for improving the quality of intermediate-level political theory training; simultaneously, it proposes a comprehensive set of solutions regarding awareness, policy mechanisms, content - curriculum - methods, implementation organization, and inspection and supervision.

The research findings are valuable for reference in planning and managing intermediate-level political theory training at the local level.
