According to him, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has clarified the nature and direction of Vietnam's diplomacy, which is the diplomacy that has been summarized throughout the thousands of years of building, protecting and developing the country of the Vietnamese people, based on the immutable principles and consistent ideology of independence, self-reliance and ensuring the highest national interests.

Meanwhile, Professor Go Ito, of Meiji University (Japan), commented that the term "bamboo diplomacy" is an interesting metaphor. According to him, the main features of this diplomatic approach are resilience, flexibility and modesty. The professor emphasized that flexibility exists in Vietnam's foreign policy, in maintaining relations with other countries.
Japanese experts believe that Vietnam is in a favorable environment to achieve an important position in ASEAN, while having political and economic ties with countries in the region, such as Japan and South Korea.
According to Professor Go Ito, Vietnam is the Southeast Asian country closest to Japan and is also connected to the Indochina peninsula, which is an important factor promoting Vietnam-Japan relations.
Chairman of the Israel-Vietnam Friendship Association and former Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Amikam Levy said that the "bamboo diplomacy" policy is a great policy and initiative, demonstrating the leadership style and commitment of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the benefit of the Vietnamese people.
