In the past 3 years, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted has had 3 students consecutively win gold medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad. This result has only been achieved by the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , Hanoi National University.
Specifically, at the recent 2025 International Chemistry Olympiad, Ngo Quang Minh (grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted) won a gold medal and ranked 7th in the world's top score; the highest of the Vietnamese delegation.

Previously, at the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted had Nguyen Huu Tien Hung (grade 12) as one of three students who won a Gold medal; contributing to helping the Vietnamese team rank 2nd out of 89 participating countries and territories (tied for second place with the US team and only behind the Chinese team).

At the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad, Nguyen Kim Giang, grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, was one of three students who won a gold medal; helping Vietnam rank third overall out of 89 participating countries and territories.

Not only in the international Olympic arena, these 3 students also brought other achievements to Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted.
Ngo Quang Minh won first prize in the national excellent student competition in Chemistry in 2025 and second prize in 2024.
Nguyen Huu Tien Hung also won first prize in the national excellent student competition in Chemistry in 2024; won a gold medal at the Abu Reikhan Beruniy International Chemistry Olympiad held in Uzbekistan in 2023.
Nguyen Kim Giang won second prize in the national excellent student competition in Chemistry in 2022 and 2023.
Also in the 3 years, 2023-2025, the school continuously had students winning Bronze Medals at the International Math Olympiad, including: Truong Thanh Xuan (grade 11, 2025), Nguyen Van Hoang (2024) and Khuc Dinh Toan (2023).

Mr. Ha Huy Phuong, Principal of Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, said that not only he personally but also the school in particular and the education sector of Bac Ninh province in general are very happy that for consecutive years, students have won medals in Olympic competitions.
“The teachers and students of the school have tried very hard and are determined. The whole country only has 4 students in the team, but each year the school has 1 student participating and winning a gold medal, which is very good. Overall, the results of the Vietnamese team at the International Chemistry Olympiad have been very good, so we have high expectations for them,” said Mr. Phuong.
The principal said that this result was mainly due to the hard work and dedication of teachers and students over the past period. In addition to building a long-term annual plan, the school also created motivation for teachers in the process of teaching, selecting and nurturing students.
"We try to create the best conditions both mentally and physically so that teachers and students can focus on studying," said Mr. Phuong.
He said that in the history of the school, Chemistry is also the subject that students achieved the highest results in both quantity and quality at the international Olympic playground, including 5 medals, including 3 gold and 3 silver.
In 2025, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted had 3 students participating in Vietnam's teams participating in international Olympic competitions. The results were 1 gold medal in the International Chemistry Olympiad (Ngo Quang Minh); 1 silver medal (Nguyen Cong Vinh) and 1 bronze medal (Truong Thanh Xuan).

In addition to the quality of key training, Mr. Phuong said that the 2025 high school graduation exam results of Bac Ninh Specialized High School are also very impressive when the average score is among the highest in the province and there is also a student who is the valedictorian of block A nationwide with 30 absolute points (student Nguyen Quang Minh, grade 12 Math 2).
The principal said that in the coming years, in addition to continuing to maintain the achievements that have been made, the school will strive to have more students participate in other international Olympic subjects such as Informatics and Biology. These are subjects in which the school has never had students enter the international Olympic team.
Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, formerly Bac Ninh Gifted High School, consists of 3 levels, established in 1993. In May 1995, the high school block was separated into Han Thuyen Gifted High School and in May 2003, it was renamed Bac Ninh Gifted High School.
The most impressive achievement of the school's students is that in 2023, they won 4 international Olympic medals, including: 2 International Physics Olympiad medals (including 1 gold and 1 bronze); 1 International Chemistry Olympiad gold medal; 1 International Mathematics Olympiad bronze medal.
