(Baoquangngai.vn) - In recent days, dozens of fishing boats belonging to fishermen in Quang Ngai City have gone out to sea to catch krill. Thanks to a good harvest and good prices, each fisherman earns between 1 and 3 million VND after each trip.

The shrimp harvesting season usually lasts from the end of February to April in the lunar calendar in the Tinh Khe sea area. Fishermen start going out to sea from 2-3 am and can harvest 4-5 quintals of shrimp by noon. While weighing shrimp to sell to traders, fisherman Phan Van Quang, from Ky Xuyen village, Tinh Ky commune, shared that after sailing out to sea and waiting about 1km, they can cast their nets to catch shrimp. Depending on the day, fishing boats may encounter schools with more or less shrimp. Today, after 5 hours at sea, I caught 25 baskets of shrimp, about 4.5 quintals. At the current selling price, one trip can bring in more than 5 million VND.
Fisherman Cao Van Tu (65 years old), from Ky Xuyen village, Tinh Ky commune, shared that each shrimp fishing boat has about 1-3 crew members. This year's shrimp season has brought in a good income for almost every boat that goes out to sea. Each boat can make 1-3 trips per day. After deducting expenses, each fisherman can pocket 1-3 million VND per day.
Currently, in the nearshore waters of Tinh Khe commune, there are more than 30 fishing boats from Tinh Ky and Tinh Khe districts participating in shrimp fishing. According to Nguyen Hoai Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tinh Ky commune, there are currently more than 20 boats from Tinh Ky fishermen engaged in shrimp fishing in the nearshore area. This year, local fishermen have had both a good harvest and good prices, so everyone is delighted.

Currently, it's the peak of the shrimp season, and fishermen are rushing out to sea every day. While shrimp fishing provides a decent income, it's very hard work; each time they go out to sea, the fishermen have to work continuously for many hours.
Fresh krill is used as a fresh food source in daily meals, and can also be used to make fish sauce or dried krill. Currently, dried krill is also selling at a relatively high price of 50-60 thousand VND/kg. With continued favorable weather, fishermen in Quang Ngai City can harvest krill until the end of April in the lunar calendar.
