Yang's father is 70 years old, he is a poor farmer, he has never left the village, all year round he is busy taking care of crops and livestock. Therefore, Yang wants to take his father to visit a big city once, experience staying in a hotel with him and looking at tall buildings.

Yang also thanked his father at the graduation ceremony by wearing his bachelor's gown for him. In order to convince his father to temporarily leave his farm work to attend his son's graduation, Yang tactfully told him that he needed to sign some papers so that his son could officially receive his diploma.

On June 17, Yang rented a car and drove more than 300km to his hometown to pick up his father. At the graduation ceremony the next day, his father appeared in a bachelor's gown that Yang had prepared.

Initially, Yang sat with his classmates according to the graduation seating arrangement, but later he was allowed to sit next to his father, to help him feel calmer in the unfamiliar space.

After receiving his diploma, Yang handed it to his father and said, “Dad, this honor is yours.” After the graduation ceremony, Yang began spending time with his father touring Guiyang City.

“My father was amazed when he saw the tall buildings. It was also the first time he stayed in a hotel,” Yang said.

All expenses during the days he stayed in the city with his father were paid for by Yang with the savings he had accumulated from his part-time jobs as a student. Yang was very surprised when his sharing about his father suddenly went viral on Chinese social media.

Yang will start working in Jiangxi Province, China, next September. Yang is the youngest of six siblings. During his college years, Yang received financial support from his parents and siblings. Although each had their own difficulties, the family always gave Yang a warm feeling of family.

During his recent graduation ceremony, Yang was only able to invite his father to attend the ceremony with him. His mother had to stay home to take care of the farm and livestock.

He hopes that in the future, when his economic conditions are more stable, he will have the conditions to repay his parents more.

Seeing his story go viral online, Yang added: “Many young people today are reluctant to interact with older people. I think we need more positive energy, and part of that energy can be found in older people.

In the family, children need to care for and be grateful to their parents, especially when they are old. When I am with my parents and other older people, I always feel their patience and perseverance. That helps me to be calmer to overcome difficulties in life."
