Mr. Y Taih Priêng, head of Trum village (Tam Thang commune, Cu Jut district, Dak Nong province), is respected and loved by the villagers for his dedication and contributions to the community.
Mr. Y Taih Priêng shared that the village has about 102 households. Previously, the villagers lived in poverty, mainly farming , growing cassava and other crops, resulting in unstable incomes. Now, Trum village has changed dramatically.

Mr. Y Taih Priêng's family owns 1 hectare of coffee intercropped with pepper. In addition, he grows seasonal crops and rice. Each year, his family earns a total income of approximately 400 million VND. Based on his own production and farming experience, he regularly shares his methods with other villagers.
Mr. Y Taih encouraged people to apply science and technology to production, boldly converting inefficient crop areas to high-value industrial crops such as coffee, pepper, fruit trees, and suitable livestock. He diligently guided people on how to care for crops to achieve high yields and quality.
As a result, people's lives have gradually improved, the poverty rate has decreased significantly, the number of near-poor households has also decreased, and many families have developed their economy and risen out of poverty sustainably.

To improve the village's infrastructure and facilitate trade, Mr. Y Taih's family voluntarily donated 60 square meters of land along the road. He collaborated with community organizations to encourage villagers to donate land to expand and upgrade the inter-village road.
To ensure everyone's safety when traveling at night, he called on the community to work together to install a cluster of streetlights along the 1.5km stretch of road. He also acted as a liaison, campaigning for the construction of charitable houses for disadvantaged families.
Taking advantage of his free time, Mr. Y Taih visited households in the village to understand their thoughts and aspirations, and then sought ways to resolve them. He regularly met and exchanged ideas with pastors, religious leaders, and officials to ensure that the villagers complied with the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and local regulations. Furthermore, he skillfully integrated the dissemination of the Party and State's policies and guidelines into village meetings and during production activities.
Many families experienced domestic discord, and conflicts arose within the community. He promptly mediated these disputes in a fair and reasonable manner, fostering unity and cohesion within the community. As a result, he became a unifying figure in the village.
Ms. H Ven Priêng (a resident of Trum village) shared that her family is in difficult circumstances. She and her husband work as laborers to support their four children's education. Village head Y Taih always cares for, encourages, and helps the villagers improve their material and spiritual lives. He encourages the villagers to utilize their cultural values to develop the economy. She herself learned to weave brocade. For her, it's a skill she has, providing income during the off-season. Through this, she also preserves the traditional cultural values of her ethnic group.
Recently, Mr. Y Taih Priêng, along with the local authorities, has opened classes to teach gong playing and brocade weaving to young people. According to Mr. Y Taih Priêng, traditional cultural values need to be preserved and promoted. Especially the younger generation must cherish what their ancestors have left behind. From there, they can introduce their ethnic culture to friends and tourists from near and far, thus preserving culture while developing the economy.
For his contributions over the years, Mr. Y Taih Priêng has received numerous certificates of merit and commendations from various levels of government. In 2024, Mr. Y Taih Priêng was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister for his significant contributions to the socio-economic development and social work of the province.
