'The man in the dark' revealed about My Tam, prepared for the last day of her life

As the bodyguard of the number 1 famous star in showbiz, Tung Yuki chose to live and work quietly, practiced for many years and even prepared for the last "trip" of his life.

Tung Yuki has been with My Tam for more than 20 years, since the singer's first live show. Since then, he has always been by her side, escorting her to every big and small event.

The couple "My Tam - Tung Yuki" has become a model of a lasting, trusting relationship between a star and a bodyguard, the first and almost only one in the current Vietnamese showbiz market.

Sharing with VietNamNet , Tung Yuki said that he is an introvert, works quietly and rarely interacts with strangers. He does not want to appear in crowded places to maintain the dignity of his profession, and wants to separate himself from the hustle and bustle.

Tung Yuki has had a close relationship with My Tam for more than 20 years.

Despite being close and intimate "like family" with My Tam, Tung Yuki has never attended the singer's birthday or private party for the past 20 years.

Every time he was filming or invited to events, Tung Yuki did not attend. After finishing filming each project, he quickly left and did not hang around drinking.

He believes that society is complicated now, sometimes when drunk, people say bad things that affect themselves and others.

Tung Yuki does not want people to speculate or question the relationship between him and My Tam.

During all those years together, there were countless times when Tung Yuki was rumored to be with the “Brown-haired Nightingale”. Some people said that the two dated and had been together for a long time, calling him the “Man in the Dark” of the female singer, and even had a child.

“Although the action was very small, it came from Tam’s feelings. We all see each other as real father and son, accompanying and sticking together for two decades now,” he said.

Not as rich as many people think, prepared for the end of life

At the age of 63, he should be able to relax and rest, but Tung Yuki is still working hard. He said he is healthy and alert so there is no reason to retire and stay at home.

Many times when his body was tired, Tung Yuki worried whether he could continue his career or not? Or if he stopped, who would take over? So he diligently continued with the job that had been with him for almost his entire life.

Tung Yuki works hard and does not retire because of his passion and responsibility for the job.

To maintain his stamina and flexibility to meet the job requirements, Tung Yuki practices gym, swimming, and jogging regularly every day without rest.

He is confident that he can stand for hours or do jobs that a young security guard may not be able to do.

Tung Yuki also practices meditation, deep breathing, keeping his mind relaxed and less anxious. This helps him create balance in his physically demanding job.

People look at Tung Yuki and judge him as rich, but he corrects that in reality, he is not. He just wishes he always had 100 million in his account so that anyone in need could lend it or simply support the poor. He is afraid of the feeling that his relatives and friends would not be able to help him when they needed help.

Several film projects were rejected by many colleagues because of low pay, but he still accepted. Some people said it was foolish, but Tung Yuki had a different opinion.

“I get 5 million for one session, people say that is too little. For me, that number is a lot, my staff have to work half a month to earn that. Each job has a different value, as long as it is done with your own labor, it is valuable,” he said.

Despite his position and highest income in the bodyguard industry, Tung Yuki said that right now money and fame are only secondary to him.

He does not do business or work a part-time job, although many people advised him to take advantage of the opportunity. Or in some large-scale shows, he accepts support out of gratitude to the organizers without taking any money.

Tung Yuki's story of being cheated out of money is as common as eating. Every time he finished filming and contacted someone, he was told that the person in charge had run away with the money.

Recently, he lent a few hundred million to a former employee to start his own company. After a few months, the company went bankrupt, and his acquaintances' whereabouts are unknown.

Tung Yuki joked that the amount of money that many people borrowed and didn't pay back could be equal to all of his current assets. However, he was not sad because he always believed in the law of karma, that in life you must repay what you borrow.

Being a Buddhist, Tung Yuki delves into Buddhist theories, clearly understanding impermanence as well as gains and losses in life.

“When I am empty, I have a habit of sitting and drinking tea, thinking about the past. I was a poor boy from Gia Lai , packed my bags and moved to Saigon to make a living, and now I have few achievements in life. I do not dream of anything too lofty, just enough to live and be happy is enough,” he expressed.

With his family, he feels he has fulfilled his responsibilities as a husband and father. Different from the gentle man image on screen, Tung Yuki is strict and disciplined in real life.

His wife and children understand his personality well, so they choose to go along with it, letting him make his own decisions.

Tung Yuki even prepared for his "last journey". He wished for a quiet funeral, not wanting many people to know he had passed away.

“I told my family and friends that after I die, they should cremate me and then let me float somewhere. I don’t like making offerings or bothering others. Everything in life is ephemeral, so there’s no need to regret,” he advised.
