When Opal Suchata Chuangsri was announced by Miss World President Julia Morley, fans applauded and cheered in unison. She was the top candidate in the competition, attracting the attention of audiences and experts from the very beginning. The beauty queen attracted attention with her sharp looks and her story of overcoming breast cancer at the age of 16.

With a height of 1.8 m, a charming body, and a bright smile, the beauty queen stood out in every round of the final round. Every time she appeared, the audience cheered her on. In the response rounds, the beauty queen showed a dignified and confident demeanor.

Opal is a law student at Thammasat University, majoring in international relations, and is fluent in English and Chinese. In the presentation of the top 4, she received the topic: "What has this journey taught you about truth and responsibility, about how stories are told?". She replied: "This is a special opportunity that I have never had in my life. What I learned from this journey, at Miss World, is responsibility. Here, I and the other girls have become the version that we all admire. I always believe that no matter how old you are, where you are, what titles you have in life, you will always have someone by your side. It could be your parents, the people you always look up to and admire. They are the ones who will lead you to greater responsibilities and roles."

When answering the question "Why do you think you should be Miss of your continent?" of the top 8, she said: "When you garden, for example, anyone can water the plants. But to make the garden beautiful and long-lasting, you have to be the one who lives there. If I can become Miss of Asia, for me, it is not just a title, but also a way for you to make people feel that you stand up and have a voice for them. I always want to live my dream to the fullest. That is the reason I stand here, to give people more hope, and to continue to complete the achievements in my life."

Miss Ethiopia - Hasset Dereje Admassu - was the first runner-up. Miss Poland Maja Klajda ranked third, winning the second runner-up title. Fourth place went to beauty from Martinique - Aurélie Joachim.

Vietnamese contestant Ý Nhi stopped at the top 40. She did not win the sub-contests, but appeared in the second round of talent, entered the top 8 of Beauty With A Purpose, and the top 20 of Multimedia Challenge. Throughout the competition, she and the newly crowned Miss Opal Suchata Chuangsri were in the same room and had many interactive moments.

The finals lasted 3 hours, with performances and competitions by 108 contestants, along with some musical performances and videos reviewing the contest's journey by the organizers. This year, the beauties competed for the first time in a new format. The judges selected 10 beauties from 4 regions into the top 40. Next, each continent will have a top 5 and top 2. The last eight contestants continued to compete, selecting 4 people to be awarded the title of Miss Continents, which is also the final top 4, including the Miss and 3 runners-up.

The script was lengthy with many singing and dancing parts honoring Indian culture, and speeches from people involved in the competition. When announcing the top 10 of each continent, the MC read the results too quickly, causing many contestants to not know their names were called. The competition night only started to get dramatic after the announcement of the top 20.

Miss World is one of the two most prestigious beauty pageants in the world, along with Miss Universe, first held in England in 1951. The 72nd edition took place from May 7-31 in India with many activities such as cultural experiences and side rounds. Krystyna Pyszková, from the Czech Republic, was crowned in 2024.
