The mother offered hope with a "special gift basket".

Initially distraught upon learning her child might have Down syndrome, the mother found solace in a "special gift basket." Years later, she became the one delivering these gifts, helping parents who had just received a Down syndrome diagnosis to feel less alone.

Angela McBride, who lives in Utah (USA), said that her daughter Faith had a 90% chance of having Down syndrome early in her pregnancy. She recounted, "On the same day, I learned she was a girl and that she had a 90% chance of having Down syndrome."

While still feeling uncertain about her child's future, Angela stumbled upon Jack's Basket online and signed up for a gift basket.

Angela McBride received a "special gift basket" when she was pregnant with her daughter Faith and has now become a source of hope for other families.

Angela recalled, "A parent who was a volunteer contacted me, but I wasn't ready to talk at the time. Then the gift basket arrived, and it was wonderful. It contained so much helpful material. It made you realize you're not alone and that these children deserve to be welcomed and loved."

Angela's little daughter, Faith, now surprises everyone around her every day. Sharing about her daughter, Angela happily says, "She runs around everywhere, climbs on tables and chairs all day, and is as full of energy as any other toddler."

After Faith turned one year old, Angela received an email from Jack's Basket asking about volunteer opportunities. At that moment, she knew she was ready to share her journey as a mother of a child with Down syndrome. She wanted to bring baskets filled with love and helpful information to other families, and share her experiences from the past three years.

Faith, Angela's daughter, grew up healthy, active, and full of energy like any other toddler.

"I've seen another side of the story, and it's beautiful. I can tell Faith's story to help people break free from fear," Angela said.

Currently, Angela is in charge of preparing Jack's Basket gift baskets and meeting with many families in Utah. She shares with them the opportunities and hopes ahead when raising a child with Down syndrome.

For Angela, Faith's journey as a mother has helped her understand her daughter better, and it is her little girl who has helped her grow every day. She said emotionally, "She has made me a better version of myself. She has changed me, uplifted me in ways I never thought I could."
