Spider-Man returns with star Nicolas Cage

Prime Video has just released the first image of Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, the unique black-and-white version of Spider-Man that made a strong impression in the animated film Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (2018).

This live-action series, titled Spider-Noir , is scheduled to premiere in 2026 and promises to provide a fresh perspective on Spider-Man.

The character Spider-Man Noir, also known as the Peter Parker of the Noir universe, is a distinct variation of Spider-Man, working as a private detective in the gloomy 1930s New York setting.

Unlike the traditional Spider-Man version with a dynamic and modern style, Spider-Man Noir has a classic detective style, using intelligence and fighting skills to deal with crime in a harsh world .

The character is inspired by Marvel detective novels and comics, with a signature outfit of a trench coat, fedora, and pistol.

In Spider-Noir , Nicolas Cage will play an aging Peter Parker, struggling with life as a private investigator and facing a personal crisis. The series revolves around his journey as he confronts his past as the only superhero protecting the city.

Cage, who voiced Spider-Man Noir in the animated film Into the Spider-Verse , was considered the perfect choice due to his versatile acting ability and unique style. The 61-year-old actor won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas (1995), and is known for his roles in Face Off , Ghost Rider and most recently Pig ( 2021).

The series will be released in both black and white and color, with an impressive supporting cast including Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez and Jack Huston. The project is led by the production trio of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal - the creators of the hugely successful Into the Spider-Verse .
