After graduating from the Music Department of Quang Binh Teacher Training College in 2003, Mr. Cuong joined the Youth Union in Bac Nghia Ward, Dong Hoi City (formerly). As the Secretary of the Youth Union Branch in Sub-district 8, Mr. Cuong was always energetic and enthusiastic in volunteer and humanitarian activities, especially the blood donation movement in the locality. Unlike his peers at the time, who were hesitant and reserved due to a lack of full understanding of blood donation, Mr. Cuong always took the lead in blood donation movements organized at the local level.

Sharing his feelings about donating blood for the first time 17 years ago, Mr. Cuong happily confided: “At first, I simply thought that as a Youth Union official, I should be the first to donate, so I registered to donate blood. But later, I realized that not only was my health not affected, but I also felt happier knowing that the blood I donated could save a patient in critical condition. Since then, I have paid more attention to my diet, self-care, and ensuring the best possible health for future blood donations.”

Deeply aware of the importance of donating blood to save lives, Mr. Cuong has always been a pioneer in the blood donation movement in his local area. Regularly, he participates in humanitarian blood donation twice a year, donating 350ml each time. Since his first blood donation, his blood donation certificates, with their bright red inscriptions, have piled up, representing a total of 36 times he has "given" his blood.

“Blood cannot be created; it can only be donated from one person to another. Therefore, the saying ‘Every drop of blood given saves a life’ resonates deeply with me. As long as I have my health, I will continue to participate in blood donation. I also hope to continue encouraging more people to donate blood to help patients in critical condition. Contributing to society's efforts to help patients undergoing treatment is a great source of happiness for me,” Mr. Cuong confided.

With 36 whole blood donations, Mr. Ngo Dung Cuong is one of two representatives from the province honored by the National Steering Committee for Blood Donation as a model blood donor nationwide in 2025, and received a commendation from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society . In 2024, Mr. Cuong's family was honored as a "Model Blood Donation Family" with 40 blood donations – an impressive number demonstrating the sharing and compassion spreading from his family home.

As a self-employed worker, despite the hardships of making a living, Mr. Cuong not only directly participates in blood donation but also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Blood Donation Club of Dong Hoi City (formerly). In this role, Mr. Cuong is even more proactive and energetic, contributing to igniting and spreading the flame of the local blood donation movement. For the past 17 years, he has diligently conveyed the message and encouraged people to join hands in donating blood to save lives. Through his personal influence, Mr. Cuong has so far mobilized 1,500 people to participate in blood donation.

In particular, Mr. Cuong's volunteer spirit has spread to his own family; his wife and younger brother both participate in volunteer work, contributing to the promotion and spread of compassionate values from the family to the community and society.

Commenting on the tireless blood donation journey of Mr. Ngo Dung Cuong, Ms. Tran Thi Sau, former President of the Red Cross Society of Dong Hoi City, affirmed: "With 36 times of readily 'sharing precious blood' to 'give hope' to patients in need of blood transfusions, Mr. Ngo Dung Cuong's actions are not something everyone can do."

Throughout his journey of nurturing and igniting compassion in response to the "Humanitarian Aid Movement," Mr. Cuong has made many positive contributions. He deserves to be a shining example, helping the "Humanitarian Aid Movement" in the province to spread further in the community, contributing to promoting the spirit of solidarity, love, and responsible living among the younger generation.

For his positive contributions to the blood donation movement, Mr. Ngo Dung Cuong has received recognition from organizations and individuals through dozens of certificates of merit and commendations from the central and local authorities. His noble heart and kind deeds have helped spread the humanitarian spirit of the blood donation movement to the community and society, igniting hope and faith for patients, and together building a compassionate society full of love and happiness.
