Flash flood risk, mountainous communes in Ha Tinh urgently respond
(Baohatinh.vn) - Due to the impact of storm No. 5, rainfall is generally between 200-400mm, locally over 600mm, so there is a high risk of flash floods in the mountainous areas of Ha Tinh. Localities are urgently implementing many response measures.

In the flood-prone area of Ha Linh commune, the elderly and single households living in unstable houses were urgently evacuated; people's assets were relocated from low-lying areas; and people were supported to install floating houses to avoid floods.
Huong Do Commune supports people in raising furniture, moving livestock to high places, and installing flood protection buoys.
Huong Xuan commune proactively evacuated people; secured houses and school buildings, cultural houses...
Heavy rain and strong winds on the morning of August 25 caused many trees in Huong Binh commune to fall. Local authorities mobilized forces to urgently clean up the roads to ensure traffic flow.
Phuc Trach commune checks landslide and flash flood risk areas to propagate and mobilize people to evacuate to safe places; support people to raise furniture and property; prepare means to be ready for rescue when floods occur.

In Am Thuy village (Kim Hoa commune), local authorities and forces are trying to support people to move their assets to safety. This area is low-lying and often deeply flooded. Assets are moved to high, safe places.
According to the leader of Kim Hoa commune, this morning, the locality mobilized and supported 55 households to evacuate and raise their properties to prevent rising flood waters.
Property is placed high by the people of Kim Thuy village (Kim Hoa commune) to ensure safety. In Mai Hoa commune, local authorities and forces supported single-parent households and the elderly to safety. In vulnerable areas in village 2 - Van Giang, My Ngoc and Yen Du village, people have been assisted to safety.
The livestock are actively kept by the people and their barns are carefully reinforced to minimize damage caused by storm No. 5.
