On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Thuong Duc Victory (August 7, 1974 - August 7, 2024), on the evening of August 7, a delegation of leaders from the Central Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the National Assembly Delegation, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province came to offer flowers, incense, and commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Thuong Duc Victory Monument, Dai Lanh Commune, Dai Loc District.
Attending the funeral were comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Former Politburo member, Former President; comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Phan Viet Cuong - Former member of the Party Central Committee, Former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Nguyen Duc Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Le Van Dung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam province and comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders of departments, branches and sectors.
In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation observed a minute of silence, respectfully paying tribute and expressing deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
During the war against the US to save the country, Thuong Duc Military Sub-region was considered the "steel door" protecting the Military Complex in Da Nang. With the determination to destroy this base, under the direction of the Central Military Commission, the General Staff, the Military Region 5 Command, units of the 304th Division and the 324th Division of the 2nd Corps, in coordination with the armed forces of Military Region 5 and the local troops of the Quang Da Special Zone Party Committee, completely liberated the Thuong Duc District Military Sub-region, creating a solid practical foundation for the Politburo and the Party Central Committee to build the determination to completely liberate the South and unify the country.
