5 STEPS TO REGISTER YOUR WISHES

Sharing in the program, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, Vice Principal of Duy Tan University, said that the next 2 weeks are an important period for candidates when participating in this year's university entrance exam. Accordingly, whether or not they are eligible for early admission, candidates need to complete all registration steps on the Ministry of Education and Training's system.

According to Dr. Hai, this registration process consists of 5 steps: Accessing the system and logging in with a personal account and changing the personal password on the first login; registering for admission information; registering for additional applications and arranging for employees; confirming with the OTP code sent by the system to the registered phone number of the applicant; checking the list of employees before confirming the registration. "This process can be performed multiple times from now until 5:00 p.m. on July 30. After July 30, applicants need to continue paying fees and confirming admission online before going to school to complete the admission procedures," Dr. Hai added.

Experts advise candidates on how to apply for appropriate admissions, in Thanh Nien Newspaper's online program yesterday afternoon.

According to Dr. Hai, candidates need to fill in all the required information on the software. In particular, there are 2 very important pieces of information that candidates need to check carefully: the order of the NV and the code of the major and the code of the registered school. After completing the registration, candidates need to log back into the system to check the information again to ensure that there are no problems.

Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, also said that in the Ministry's admission registration software, there are 5 basic toolbars. From now on, candidates need to perform operations to become familiar with the software. Candidates should use a desktop or laptop to register instead of on a mobile phone.

Master Ngo Tri Dung, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center of Hong Bang International University, noted that early admitted candidates need to register for NV on the Ministry's system within the prescribed time.

C STRATEGY FOR ARRANGING PRIORITIZATION OF WISHES

Master Truong Quang Tri, Deputy Head of Student Affairs Department, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, emphasized: "Each candidate, no matter how many jobs he/she registers for, will only be accepted for one job, so the strategy of prioritizing jobs is extremely important."

Dr. Vo Thanh Hai analyzed: "This year, many universities are implementing early admission methods in forms other than the high school graduation exam scores. There are good candidates who, when applying early, can receive results that meet the admission requirements of many schools. When registering on the portal of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates must note that even if they can register for unlimited NV, they can still only be admitted to one major at one school. Therefore, what candidates need to do is list the majors they want to apply for and these NVs must be placed in descending order of priority."

According to Dr. Hai, the strategy for placing NV will be different for the two groups of candidates. First, candidates who are admitted early and want to enroll, just need to place that major in NV 1, then pay the fee and confirm. On the contrary, there are candidates who are admitted early but still want to use their graduation exam scores for admission and only consider early admission as a backup plan. In this case, candidates can place NV to prioritize considering graduation exam scores before placing NV that is eligible for early admission. This method will help candidates have more opportunities to be considered for admission using graduation exam scores but still maintain the early admission results.

Mr. Vu Quang Huy, Deputy Director of the Admissions Consulting Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, also said: "Choosing NV must comply with the principle of choosing a favorite major. There are candidates who, because they do not meet the requirements to be admitted to a major, accept to choose a completely different major to study at a school. This approach should not be done because candidates will have to accept the consequences of choosing an unsuitable major such as retaking the exam, changing majors...".

Candidates view the 2024 high school graduation exam results announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on the morning of July 17.

HOW MANY APPLICATIONS SHOULD I REGISTER?

Statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training show that in 2023, there will be more than 660,000 candidates registering for NV on the admission system (equivalent to 66% of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam), with a total number of NV registrations of over 3.4 million. Thus, on average, each candidate registers for 5 NV.

Mr. Vu Quang Huy thinks that it is appropriate for a candidate to only register for 3-7 positions. Because according to the Ministry's regulations, a candidate who passes the above positions will not be considered for the next positions.

Regarding this, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai also advised: "PhDs should not only register for 1 job but also should not register for too many jobs. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, on average, each PhD usually registers for 4-5 jobs."

Sharing the same opinion, Master Cao Quang Tu emphasized: "Do not be too confident and only place 1-2 candidates to avoid the situation of having very high scores but not passing the university entrance exam."

Master Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Deputy Director of the Admissions Consulting Center of the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City, said that when registering on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission software, candidates do not need to choose the admission method and combination code, but only need to choose the school code and major code. However, candidates still have to pay attention to choosing the major code with the admission combination that matches the subject combination they registered for in the high school graduation exam, then candidates will have the results to consider admission on the software.

Regarding registration techniques, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai added: "Regardless of whether you register on the first or last day, the results are the same. However, registering on the last day may encounter problems if not processed in time. Therefore, TS should complete the registration process no later than July 29, not wait until July 30."

Candidates should only register for 3-7 positions. Because according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who pass the above positions will not be considered for the next positions.
