The female athlete was honored at the 2022 and 2023 Vietnam Women's Awards ceremony - organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union. The girl from Bac Giang had a successful year with 4 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games and 1 gold medal at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship.

Nguyen Thi Oanh stood out at the 32nd SEA Games. The gold medals she won were in the 1,500m, 3,000m hurdles, 5,000m and 10,000m events. The most impressive achievement of the athlete born in 1995 was winning the 1,500m and 3,000m hurdles events less than 30 minutes apart.
In addition to the medals, Nguyen Thi Oanh also strives in competition, trying to break her own limits. At the 2023 World Championship, Nguyen Thi Oanh set a new personal record in the 1,500m race with a time of 4 minutes 12 seconds 28.
At the 19th ASIAD (Hangzhou, China), this runner surpassed her SEA Games 32 gold medal record by nearly 40 seconds in the 3,000m event. However, she did not win a medal against the continent's top athletes.
At the national championship, Nguyen Thi Oanh won 3 gold medals in the 1,500m, 3,000m hurdles and 5,000m events.
In 2023, Nguyen Thi Oanh was awarded the Second Class Labor Medalby President Vo Van Thuong. She is also one of 75 faces receiving a Certificate of Merit for typical advanced achievements nationwide.
In August 2023, the Emulation and Reward Council of Bac Giang province organized a public consultation on 10 individuals nominated for the title "Outstanding Bac Giang Citizen" in 2023.
