His birth name is Tran Duc Tho, his father's hometown is Ha Tinh province - where Hong Linh mountain peak radiates the spiritual energy of heaven and earth for thousands of years, plus the nurturing of the green Ngoi Nhi stream in Yen Bai land during his childhood years, which shaped Giang Nha Tran's steadfast and upright character... His family planned that when Giang Nha Tran finished high school, he would join the police force, but he did not join the police force but joined the army, volunteering to fight to protect the northern border for 4 years. After that, Giang Nha Tran studied police, then worked at Hoang Lien Son Provincial Police. In 1996, he and his family moved to Hanoi . "At first, I wrote news articles about crime prevention, about the results of investigations and solving cases... collaborating with newspapers. Later, I tried my hand at reporting and investigative reporting," Giang Nha Tran recalled his time as a journalist "trainee".

Those news pieces enticed him to change direction from a reconnaissance soldier, an economic police officer, a criminal investigation police officer to the path of journalism, using his pen to expose negative incidents in society. The newspaper Giang Nha Tran worked for was the Cinema and Drama Newspaper - a purely literary newspaper, unrelated to the fight against negativity and social corruption. But few people expected that the cover of a "literary newspaper" was the "perfect cover", making bad guys less vigilant - a condition for him to have the opportunity to penetrate reality, investigate and collect evidence, and then write reports that shocked public opinion: PM 18, The pơ-mu war at the afternoon market, Why do bears cry on the border, Stories only at the Central Endocrinology Hospital, Exchange City, Why do border land get sold, Horrifying stories in the mountainous region. Among these, the story of horror in the mountainous region, published in the Labor and Social Newspaper's New Year's issue in 1999 with the title "Eating... human flesh by mistake" is still mentioned today as a story of horror.

The story happened in Phu Tho province. A woman in her 40s, unmarried, from Thai Binh province, went to Phu Tho with her family to reclaim wasteland. After a trip to visit her younger brother who was working in Ho Chi Minh City, the woman was given a 2-tael gold ring by her younger brother. On the way back to Thanh Son district (Phu Tho province), she suddenly went missing. A short time later, in a forest in Thanh Son district, two hunters discovered the charred body of an "orangutan" next to a pile of cogon grass. They cut the forest vines to tie the skeleton, dragged it home, and threw the entire "orangutan" skeleton into a pond to soak it clean to make a glue. After the bones were clean, they proceeded to make the glue. During the cooking process, some bones of the upper limbs still had meat on them, and someone took them out to eat. Some people suspected that the "orangutan" body was the body of the missing woman, so they "secretly reported" it to Giang Nha Tran. From Hanoi, he went to Thanh Son - Phu Tho to find out the truth. To confirm more evidence, Giang Nha Tran also met with the Chief of Thanh Son District Forest Protection Department, the Chief of Thanh Son District Forestry Department, Thanh Son District Police... and together they translated the Muong audio recording into Vietnamese, then together they signed the minutes confirming the incident. Not stopping there, he carefully drove his motorbike for dozens of kilometers, found the female secretary who was working in the fields, got her stamp on the minutes, and then returned to Hanoi. The report was then published in 5 installments in the Labor and Society Newspaper, creating a big buzz because of the thrilling details, true to Giang Nha Tran's detective stories.

After the Cinema and Drama Newspaper split, he became the manager of the Performing Arts Magazine and now runs the Vietnam Culture Magazine. Whether he is a soldier holding a gun to protect the northern border of the Fatherland, or a police officer chasing criminals, or a journalist with in-depth investigative journalism, in any position, holding any role, Giang Nha Tran always lives a vibrant life, also dedicated, devoted himself. He believes that looking deeply into the paths of life is the way to reach the light of others, the truth will be revealed after the ultimate bitterness.
