Vietnamese designer Viet Hung recounts that his childhood memories are intertwined with sunny afternoons by the Han River, when the golden light reflected on the water's surface, creating a shimmering, picturesque scene. Through his mother's stories about this land, each word gradually nurtured in him a sense of history and culture, like echoes from the past.

“The Cham Pa Imprint collection takes me back to and evokes memories of the golden age, revealing the glorious history of Cham Pa in the sun-drenched and windswept central region, once known as the ‘sacred land.’”

"Even though its golden age is hundreds of years gone by, even though the flow of time and culture has taken cruel turns, even though the dust of history has covered Champa culture, the city of Da Nang, situated on the banks of the Han River, still coils like a silk ribbon, preserving the key that unlocks the door to a colorful world of the once glorious Champa civilization," shared designer Viet Hung.

The designer skillfully incorporated distinctive elements from the patterns to the color palette of the ancient Champa civilization into the ao dai, creating a fusion of history, culture, and contemporary fashion .

The geometric patterns and motifs on ancient Cham towers and Cham tower architecture have been creatively and stylized by designer Viet Hung into unique designs displayed on the body and along the hem of the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress).

He chose colors reminiscent of Cham towers, such as brick red, earthy yellow, dark brown, and turquoise. These tones are skillfully blended, showcasing a classic yet elegant style.

Viet Hung applies the traditional ao dai silhouette, adding stylish touches to the collar, sleeves, and hem to create unique accents.

“I grew up with various stories, both old and new, about that ancient civilization, names like My Son, Dong Duong, Tra Kieu, Thap Mam… that were initially unfamiliar but gradually became familiar, and I have visited that city hundreds of times, each time leaving a deeper impression with each passing day.”

For me, "The Imprint of Champa" is a work of art that preserves memories from my many visits and experiences there.

"This collection is like a gift I cherish for the people of Da Nang and for my friends who share the mission of nurturing, preserving, and conserving Vietnamese traditional clothing. I also dedicate it to my mother, who instilled in me words and historical stories that awakened me through her distinctive Central Vietnamese accent," designer Viet Hung shared.

The fashion show featured singer Dam Vinh Hung and his son Polo Huynh, Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 Yen Nhi, Miss World Vietnam 2025 Phan Phuong Oanh, Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 runner-up Anh Vuong, Miss Celebrity International 2024 My Linh, Miss Beach Vietnam 2025 runner-up Uyen Phuong, Miss Jewelry Vietnam 2023 runner-up Ngoc Trang; Top 5 Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 Thoa Thuong…
