Nha Trang organizes a national beach festival on the occasion of the Duanwu Festival

Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa Province) will organize a national beach festival with many activities on the occasion of the Doan Ngo Festival (the 5th day of the 5th lunar month).

On May 28, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Vice Chairman of Nha Trang City People's Committee - said that he had issued a plan to organize a National Beach Festival in Nha Trang in 2025.

The program will take place from 6am to 12pm on May 31, the exact day of the Dragon Boat Festival, at the beach opposite the Sheraton Hotel, 26-28 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City.

According to Mr. Minh, the organization of this festival is to respond to the Nha Trang Sea Culture and Tourism Festival 2025, at the same time creating a playground for people and tourists, launching a swimming movement and preventing drowning among the whole population.

In addition, the reason for holding the festival right on the occasion of the Duanwu Festival is because people in Nha Trang and the South Central region have the custom of swimming in the sea at noon on the Duanwu Festival, to pray for good things to come to their families, society and country.

The festival is expected to attract the participation of communes, wards, agencies, units, socio- political organizations, schools, along with thousands of local people and domestic and foreign tourists to visit and relax on the occasion of the 2025 Sea Culture and Tourism Festival.

The organizing committee will also launch a swimming and drowning prevention movement for the entire population, organize a biathlon (ocean swimming and running), compete in folk games such as sack jumping, relay races, tug of war, team building activities, lion-dragon performances, Hawaiian dances, and marine life festivals.
