A melody filled with pride, faith, and aspiration.
If earlier works of "revolutionary" music such as "The Homeland Calls My Name" (music by Dinh Trung Can, lyrics by Nguyen Phan Que Mai), "A Lifetime, a Forest of Trees" (Tran Long An), "Country of Love" (Tran Le Giang), "The Party Has Given Us a Spring" (Pham Tuyen), "Green Leaves" (Hoang Viet), "Aspiration" (Pham Minh Tuan), "The Stars of the Night" (Phan Huynh Dieu), "The Road We Take" (music by Huy Du, lyrics by Xuan Sach)... have left their mark on many generations of the public, then currently, many new works are also gradually making their mark.

Along with that, a generation of talented young musicians and singers has emerged, such as Nguyen Van Chung, Tung Duong, Vo Ha Tram, Anh Tu, Nguyen Hung, Hoa Minzy, Dong Hung, Minh Sang, Nguyen Duy Quynh, Truong Tran Anh Duy… They have been and are “breathing fire” into heroic songs by combining revolutionary spirit and modern musical thinking.
Breaking away from traditional paths, new works boldly combine various art forms, from modern to traditional, creating innovative and artistic songs and arrangements. Nguyen Van Chung has a series of songs including "Continuing the Story of Peace," "The Sea, the Land, and the Sky," "A Vow for Peace," "Pain Amidst Peace," etc.; Tung Duong released "Vietnam, Let's Step Towards the Future"; Vo Ha Tram made her mark with "A Vow to Be Vietnamese," "Millions of Hearts," "Vietnam in My Heart"; singer-songwriter Nguyen Hung has the song "What Could Be More Beautiful?" Most recently, singer Anh Tu has brought a "new breeze" with songs like "Dear Party," "You Are Ho Chi Minh ," and "Amidst Peace."
Special position
The emergence of many new works brimming with love for the homeland, faith in the nation's longevity and development, and the artists' sense of responsibility, is a positive sign and highly commendable. Composer Nguyen Van Chung shared: "I used to compose love songs, songs about family and children, but after my trips back to my roots, many things changed within me. I once stood silently before the graves of unknown martyrs at Hang Duong Cemetery in Con Dao. That feeling of gratitude gave me the inspiration to write songs of gratitude, expressing my love for the Fatherland. I think there will come a time when artists write and sing because it is an honor and a sacred responsibility."
For Anh Tú, starting as a singer specializing in pop music, he began by composing traditional songs and actively participating in national concerts, making this genre a trend. This is an effort that some young singers have achieved. "Each artist has their own artistic path, but they all share a common trait: patriotism. When art is nurtured by national pride and awareness of our roots, the path of our profession becomes even more meaningful," Anh Tú said.
Music plays a crucial role in fostering patriotism and educating the younger generation about gratitude. I believe that traditional and revolutionary songs will always hold a special place in the hearts of the public. I have seen tens of thousands of young people singing along to these songs at national concerts. I have also seen many young artists working diligently and persistently in this genre, achieving initial success. They deserve greater recognition and appreciation.
People's Artist Ta Minh Tam
The appearance of young artists specializing in commercial music in socially relevant art programs, venturing into the realm of traditional and revolutionary music composition, has garnered millions of praises and encouragement, but it has also sometimes generated mixed reactions on social media. Nguyen Tuan Anh, a Master of Arts working at the Saigon Industrial Corporation, argues that: In a context where the entertainment market strongly influences musical life, venturing into socially relevant spaces is not an easy path. Therefore, this choice should be seen as an expression of civic responsibility and healthy diversity in artistic life, not as an object of ridicule or defamation.
The spirit of patriotism and pride in national traditions has been passed down through many generations. The connection between the past, present, and future has created a flow of empathy between musicians, singers, and the public, thereby spreading throughout the community and contributing to further increasing love for the homeland and the flame of national pride in the new era.
