After many days of serious illness, musician Quoc Dung passed away on the morning of September 24, at the age of 72.
Musician Quoc Dung's full name is Nguyen Quoc Dung, born in 1951 in Thailand. In 1954, he followed his family back to Vietnam.
At the age of 10, he entered the Saigon National Conservatory of Music. At the age of 16, he graduated as valedictorian in Western music. After passing the Baccalaureate 2, he entered Van Hanh University.
At the age of 15, he performed the mandolin on television in an orchestra.
The first song he composed when he was 11 years old was an instrumental piece. By the age of 17, he had completed that song into his debut song , Have You Seen Spring Yet ?. After that, he wrote many other famous songs such as Mai, Duong Xua, Con Gio Thoi, Chuyen Ba Nguoi, Con Mai Noi Day, Diep Khuc Mua Xuan, Thoat Ly, Hoang Van...
In the early 1970s, when the youth music movement was popular, he, along with Nguyen Trung Cang and Le Huu Ha, were the first musicians to Vietnamize youth music. At that time, he and singer Thanh Mai formed a famous duet.
With the ability to compose, perform and use many musical instruments such as mandolin, guitar, piano, drums, bass, keyboard, organ, he was one of the typical faces of the music industry at that time.
Musician Quoc Dung's musical career has developed strongly in all three areas of performance, harmony and composition.
After 1975, musician Quoc Dung married singer Bao Yen.

In particular, Tet Song for You is one of the classic love songs about spring, associated with his current wife - famous singer Bao Yen. The song was released in 1982, marking the love of musician Quoc Dung for Bao Yen.
