Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang passed away on the morning of October 19 at his home. The information was shared by musician Truong Ngoc Ninh on the same afternoon.
Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang was born in 1942 in Ha Nam (now Ninh Binh). He worked at the Music and Disc Publishing House and as a musician at the Central Cheo Troupe.

By 1987, the musician's name became known to many people when the song "Con mua em bat thoi" (sudden rain) became widely popular. Since then, he has continuously had notable works such as "Thoi hoa do " (poem by Thanh Tung), "Hai ngua vang trang" (poem by Hoang Huu), "Mua xuan ve", "Tuoi moi yeu", "Khoa tran Truong Son" . Notably, the song "Thoi hoa do" is in the series of works that helped musician Nguyen Dinh Bang receive the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007. The work is considered one of the best love songs of the renovation period with passionate musical notes and beautiful, expressive lyrics.
Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang composed this song in 1989, while working in the former Soviet Union. At that time, he was seriously ill and had to be treated in the hospital. To ease his sadness and homesickness, he read a book of 99 love poems he brought from Vietnam. When he read the poem Red Flower Time by Thanh Tung, the images in the poem haunted the musician. After returning to Vietnam, he made further edits to complete the song. Le Thu was the first singer to successfully perform this song.
In addition to the State Prize for Literature and Arts, musician Nguyen Dinh Bang also won awards from the Vietnam Musicians Association in 1994, 1995, and 1996. Musician Nguyen Dinh Bang is also a poetry lover. He published a collection of poems in 1994.
