Today (July 5), the Department of Forestry and Forestry ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) coordinated with businesses to organize the 2025 launching ceremony of the program "Water of Life: Water conservation - For a green Vietnam" and launch the initiative "Experience nature with Mizuiku" aiming to educate about the importance of forests and water resources deployed in national parks across the country.
With the program: "Water of Life: Water conservation - For a green Vietnam" and the launch of the initiative "Experience nature with Mizuiku", the Department of Forestry and Forestry expects to promoteeducation for the younger generation about the importance of forests and water resources deployed in national parks across the country.
In just one year, the program has achieved positive results with 35 hectares of upstream forests being greened in the provinces of Bac Kan , Nghe An and Ca Mau.
In 2025, the program will be expanded with the goal of planting 60 hectares of upstream forests in Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces, with special priority given to basins that play a role in supplying water to residential areas and factories; continue to effectively implement and expand the "National Park Passport" initiative.
"The program is designed to achieve multiple goals, including: water conservation, carbon neutrality and improving community livelihoods. The focus of the model is designed to be closely linked with local people and forest owners, focusing on raising awareness and promoting community participation through technical training on afforestation and intercropping, thereby equipping local people with knowledge, understanding the value of forests and having the opportunity to improve their livelihoods in a sustainable way," said Mr. Luong.
Along with that, the program launched the initiative "Experience Nature with Mizuiku" - the first environmental education model associated with nature in Vietnam implemented in the form of public-private partnership. This model is a breakthrough initiative, a combination of forestry science, sustainable education and innovation. The model is not only a vivid learning tool but also a powerful method of inspiration, helping our students not only understand but also love and act for the forest, for water resources, for a sustainable future of the country.
Mr. Luong said that the model will be piloted in parallel at three national parks representing three regions of the country, including Tam Dao, Xuan Lien, Cat Tien, before expanding to 15 to 20 national parks across the country. The Department of Forestry and Forest Protection also identified this as one of the important contents of the Multi-Value Forest Development Program in the coming period.
