According to a VNA correspondent in Tokyo, on May 29, a Japan Airlines passenger plane had to make an emergency landing at Narita International Airport in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, due to a suspected tire problem.
According to Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism , Japan Airlines flight JA-645, which took off from Haneda Airport at 10:00 AM on May 29th (local time, or 8:00 AM Vietnam time) bound for Kagoshima Airport, requested an emergency landing due to suspected tire malfunction.
The plane subsequently changed its destination and landed at Narita Airport two hours later. There were a total of 226 people on board, including 218 passengers and 8 crew members. Authorities said no one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, at Haneda Airport, it was reported that fragments of an aircraft tire were found on the runway from which the plane took off. Haneda Airport authorities closed the runway to investigate the cause of the incident.
