(NLDO)- On January 9, in Ha Nam province, a handover ceremony of 5 used fire trucks from Japan took place for the two provinces of Ha Nam and Thai Binh.
At the handover ceremony, the leaders of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH), Ministry of Public Security handed over 5 fire trucks, including 3 fire trucks with tanks, 1 fire pump truck and 1 equipment truck with a hand pump to Ha Nam and Thai Binh provinces.

Receiving fire-fighting equipment aided by Japan is very necessary in the context of continued socio-economic development, rapid urbanization and increasing requirements for fire prevention, firefighting and rescue work.
The used fire trucks were converted, maintained and repaired by Japanese and Vietnamese experts. After receiving them, the fire trucks were provided to the Ha Nam and Thai Binh Provincial Police for direct management and use to serve firefighting, rescue and relief work in the localities.
Mr. Yamamoto Naoiki, Secretary of Economic Affairs, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, spoke at the fire truck handover ceremony.
Immediately after the handover ceremony, officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ha Nam and Thai Binh Provinces were trained in operation; organized a firefighting and rescue drill using fire trucks sponsored by Japan.
