Parameters and indicators from the wastewater and exhaust gas treatment monitoring system are reported to the Production Control Room, from which appropriate adjustments to production materials can be made. |
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Acting Director of Cao Ngan Thermal Power Company - TKV, said: Maintaining the goal of safe and stable production is a constant requirement, but the Company clearly identifies that it must not only do well in electricity production, but must also develop in the direction of a green economy , friendly to the environment and responsible to the community.
In that spirit, the Company has proactively invested in and applied new technology, especially digital technology in monitoring, supervising and strictly controlling emission sources. At the same time, it has deployed a series of technical solutions, upgraded equipment and put into operation two automatic environmental monitoring systems for monitoring boiler flue gas emissions and monitoring wastewater output, contributing to improving the effectiveness of environmental management.
The Company has installed an emission monitoring system at all boiler chimneys - the main source of emissions during the coal burning process for electricity production. This is an automatic system, operating continuously 24/7, with the ability to collect and analyze data every 15 minutes for important parameters such as exhaust gas flow, dust concentration, SO2₂, NO2...
All data is transmitted directly to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, helping authorities monitor remotely continuously and promptly.
Staff of the Safety Engineering Department (Cao Ngan Thermal Power Company - TKV) monitors the automatic wastewater monitoring system. |
Mr. Le Cao Hanh, an officer of the Safety Engineering Department, Cao Ngan Thermal Power Company - TKV, said: Thanks to the software application installed on the phone, technical staff can monitor all emission parameters anytime, anywhere.
The indicators are continuously updated, transparent, without any deviation or concealment. When detecting abnormal parameters, the system will issue a warning to the Central Control Room, helping the unit promptly adjust the appropriate operating materials, limiting emissions to the environment.
In parallel with the emission monitoring system, the Company also invested in a synchronous automatic wastewater monitoring system. From January 2025, this system will officially operate at the centralized wastewater treatment area, allowing continuous monitoring of the quality of the output water after treatment through indicators such as: pH, COD, BOD, temperature, turbidity, total suspended solids, etc.
In particular, the entire system can be controlled and monitored remotely via smartphone, tablet or personal computer via the Internet. Monitoring and handling of situations thus becomes quick and timely, contributing to minimizing risks to the environment.
The system also integrates an early warning function when detecting abnormal parameters, helping technicians proactively respond immediately, ensuring that the output wastewater always meets the prescribed standards.
All operations of the two emission and wastewater monitoring systems are continuously monitored by security cameras and inspection stamps, ensuring objectivity, continuity and high reliability.
Cao Ngan Thermal Power Company - TKV always cares about building a green - clean - beautiful environmental landscape. |
It can be seen that investing in systems and applying digital technology in automatic monitoring and observation of emission sources not only helps Cao Ngan Thermal Power Company - TKV strictly comply with legal regulations on environmental protection, but also affirms the orientation of sustainable energy development.
From “compliance and execution”, the Company has shifted to proactive “control”. In the context of strong digital transformation, the Company is gradually transforming itself from an “electricity producer” to a “green industrial enterprise, responsible to the community and the environment”.
