The Department of Roads requires the above units to adjust information and locations of boundary signs to indicate administrative boundaries in accordance with the administrative boundaries of provinces, centrally-run cities and other administrative units after the arrangement and merger; to be completed before July 15, 2025.

Units work with local authorities (Department of Construction, Provincial Police Traffic Police Department, Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, People's Committees at commune and ward levels if necessary) to make a record of agreement on new directions on signs (directions, directions, exits), replace the current directions on signs to the places that are districts, towns, and cities under the province that no longer exist (due to the abolition of district-level authorities) or due to changes in the names of local administrative units due to the merger of provinces and communes, and at the same time check to adjust the distance instructions to match the new directions.

The Department of Roads requires units to promptly review road signs related to changes in administrative place names.

Road management areas, Department of Construction, and investors review other road signs related to changes in administrative place names, destination name directions, and distances (distance information recorded on the kilometer column to a specific place name) that need to be adjusted and propose an implementation roadmap.

Based on the implementation results (priority is given to adjusting the signs at point a and cases affecting traffic safety and order), a master plan for the routes will be established, including specific contents on the route, funding sources, and implementation responsibilities, then reported to the Vietnam Road Administration (for national highways and expressways managed by the Ministry of Construction and central agencies), and reported to the provincial People's Committee (for roads under local management) for early implementation; the reporting deadline is before July 31, 2025.
