Many proposals for tourism development in Can Tho.

(CTO) - On April 16th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City organized the 5th Business Coffee Meeting, aiming to exchange information and share solutions to help Can Tho tourism change and develop.

At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the City's Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center informed businesses about the following events: the Hung Kings Commemoration Day 2026 and the 13th Southern Traditional Cake Festival 2026, scheduled to take place from April 26th to May 1st.

Businesses have made numerous suggestions and proposals to help the city's tourism sector overcome limitations and gradually transform and develop tourism with its own brand, such as: organizing regular cultural and artistic shows to attract tourists, extend their stay, increase spending, and promote the night-time economy linked to tourism development; quickly developing a green label standard to help shape the city's green tourism brand; paying attention to directions and routes for tourist shuttle vehicles; organizing training for tour guides; developing a common tourism stimulus program for summer tourism; and addressing environmental issues.

Mr. Sam Long Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, commented: “In the development of the tourism industry, the support of businesses is always necessary. Through this program, we exchange and understand many issues as well as suggestions and proposals from businesses, so that we can work together to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and gradually promote the development of tourism in Can Tho.”

Based on the suggestions and proposals received from businesses at previous meetings, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city has advised on the development of a new resolution for tourism, in order to have appropriate policies and action programs for the city's tourism in the new context after the merger.
