Heavy rain in many areas across the country, beware of flash floods and landslides

Today (July 29), many areas across the country are forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, some places have very heavy rain. There is a risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of July 29, the Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 20-50mm, in some places more than 100mm.

During the day and night of July 30, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will continue to be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, in some places more than 80mm.

In addition, on the day and night of July 29, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An , there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, some places over 70mm, especially in the Northeast and delta regions 10-30mm, some places over 50mm.

Thunderstorms in the North are forecast to last until August 2; in the Central Highlands and the South, thunderstorms are likely to last for many days to come.

Warning of the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas. Beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue: Cloudy, sunny during the day, hot in some places, showers and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, locally heavy rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Lowest temperature from: 26-29 degrees Celsius.
