Quynh Anh (University of Economics , Da Nang University) and Hue Ngan (National Economics University) chose TOEIC for their graduation requirements, increasing their job opportunities after graduation.

The University of Economics, Da Nang University, currently requires a TOEIC score of 450 as a graduation requirement for the E-commerce major. Therefore, Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Anh, a final-year student, decided to take the TOEIC exam to meet the university's graduation requirements.

"Seeing that TOEIC is a widely recognized international certificate, suitable for graduation requirements and job applications, I decided to register for the exam," the female student shared. In addition, she also wanted to assess her English proficiency by taking a certification exam.

Quynh Anh's major in E-commerce also requires frequent use of English, especially in reading and understanding international reports. For her, English is also the primary language for research and essay writing, serving both academic requirements at school and her own learning needs.

In particular, her TOEIC score of 990 and her ability to apply English in practice helped Quynh Anh successfully secure an internship position that aligned with her initial career goals. Currently, she is an intern in UI/UX design at a company in Da Nang.

Similarly to Quynh Anh, Duong Hue Ngan ( Hanoi ), a student at the National Economics University, aims for a high TOEIC score to graduate and find good job opportunities. Ngan achieved a TOEIC score of 985 in the May exam.

Hue Ngan said that, as she was about to graduate, she noticed that many companies used TOEIC certificates as a standard for evaluating candidates in recruitment, so she decided to study for and take the TOEIC exam. "Thanks to that, I successfully applied for a Branding & Communication position at a technology corporation while I was still a student, preparing to graduate," Ngan said.

According to Ngan, the TOEIC preparation process helped her hone her English skills for use in the workplace. In her current job, she confidently uses English to communicate, report, present issues, and even debate. "English is one of the most important tools that helps me do my job well," she added.

In Vietnam, more than 500 large corporations and businesses across various sectors use TOEIC as a benchmark for evaluating and screening candidates during recruitment, including telecommunications (Vinaphone, Mobiphone, Viettel...), aviation (Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar...), banking (Vietcombank, VPBank, Techcombank, ACB...), and IT and electronics (LG, Toshiba, Fujitsu, FPT...).

Representatives from IIG Vietnam Education Organization stated that the TOEIC certificate is the most suitable choice for working professionals who need to use English in an international work environment. This certificate helps learners access knowledge and hone their skills through topics such as Business, Finance and Banking, Advertising, Manufacturing, Health, Entertainment, and workplace situations such as signing contracts, sending emails, giving presentations, writing reports, attending meetings, meeting with partners, and communicating with clients.

Keeping pace with changes in workplace and life communication trends, the Educational Testing Service (ETS) makes timely updates to the structure and content of its tests to accurately reflect the use of English in real-world work environments.

Therefore, many students nowadays study for and obtain a TOEIC certificate to improve their English skills for work, meet personnel standards, and fulfill the integration needs of businesses. The certificate includes three test options: TOEIC Listening & Reading, TOEIC Speaking & Writing, and TOEIC Speaking.
