Sa Pa town was bustling with tourists right in the first days of the 5-day holiday. The weather was sunny and cool, occasionally clouds descended on the town, lingering over the mountain streets and villages, making Sa Pa space magically beautiful.
The foggy mountain town is also bustling with festivals these days. From 9am, visitors have seen the central streets of Sa Pa overwhelmed with the color of roses. Within the framework of the "Sa Pa - Land of Love" Street Parade and the 2023 Fansipan Rose Festival with the theme "Where love begins", 34 horse-drawn carriages, cars, electric cars loaded with fresh flowers and nearly 700 actors and artisans of the Lu, Lao, Dao, Giay ethnic groups... in Sa Pa and Lai Chau , there was a brilliant parade from the largest rose valley in Vietnam (Fansipan cable car station) along the central route of the town.
At the stops, the parade groups stopped and performed their most typical acts such as the Mong people's panpipe dance, the Giay people's fan dance and bamboo dance, creating an extremely exciting festival atmosphere with bold Northwest colors.
The biggest and most attractive destination in Sa Pa is still Sun World Fansipan Legend. The largest tourist area in the Northwest in the first two days of the holiday has become a destination that constantly surprises and delights visitors.
The biggest ever Fansipan Rose Festival opened on April 27 and lasted until the end of May. The entire 50,000 m2 rose valley was in full bloom, especially the Sa Pa climbing roses. The flower arches and walls were bright red, glowing in the early summer sun. Once lost in that flower valley, visitors were so fascinated that they didn’t want to leave.
Invested on an extremely grand scale, this place currently has 300,000 rose bushes, millions of roses blooming with 150 different varieties from climbing roses, old Sa Pa roses to imported roses.
Expensive flower varieties such as Juliet, Black Baccarat, Rouge Royale or rare ones such as Spirit of Freedom, Society, known as the mysterious queen, all gather here, showing off their radiant colors.
Throughout the flower valley are miniature and large landscapes made from roses, extremely elaborate and unique. Along the paths, there are areas for visitors to freely take souvenir photos during their trip to the most exciting "rose feast" of the year.
Continuously during the Rose Festival stage, visitors can both admire the flowers and enjoy special art performances, especially the performance recreating the Red Dao wedding.
Sun World Fansipan Legend has also just inaugurated the Northwest Cultural Space at the Cable Car Station area, right on the occasion of the holiday. With ancient houses brought back from villages in Sa Pa, culinary quintessence, handicrafts and typical songs and dances of 5 ethnic groups living in Sa Pa, this space with the bold colors of the Northwest has not only surprised domestic tourists but also many tourists from Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand... coming to Sa Pa on this occasion. They were extremely surprised and excited when visiting and interacting with the locals in the houses.
From an altitude of 2,000m up to the top of Fansipan, yellow and red rhododendrons are gradually blooming. Along La Han Street, looking down from the top of Fansipan, especially the area at the foot of the statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, yellow rhododendrons are blooming in clusters, promising to create bright yellow flower carpets in the coming days.
Visitors to Fansipan at this time will also be lucky enough to see the sea of clouds floating in the clear sky. This is a "specialty" of the misty land of Sa Pa. But for many visitors, walking in the sea of clouds hovering in the misty area on the peak, watching the curved temple roofs hidden in the mist is also a unique experience that makes them feel like they are walking in the clouds.
