Many universities switch to online learning in the face of storm No. 11

Proactively responding to storm No. 11 (Matmo), many universities in Hanoi have announced on October 5 that they will switch to online learning on October 6 (Monday) to ensure the safety of lecturers and students.

In response to warnings about the developments and impacts of storm No. 11, on the afternoon of October 5, the Academy of Journalism and Communication announced that classes and systems with in-person learning schedules will temporarily switch to online learning on Monday, October 6.

Foreign Trade University has also announced the adjustment of the study and exam schedule due to the impact of storm No. 11. Accordingly, based on the weather situation and the impact of the storm, in order to ensure the safety of lecturers and students, the school announced the adjustment of the study and exam schedule on October 6 and 7. Classes on October 6 and 7 were switched from in-person to online.

Exam classes scheduled for October 6 moved to October 12; October 7 moved to October 19.

The school said that by October 8, if any class has difficulty moving due to the impact of storms and rain, the school will have its own adjustment plan, depending on the specific situation of each class; at the same time, it is recommended that lecturers, students and related units proactively follow updated information on the school's official announcement channels.

To prevent flooding and traffic jams, to ensure the safety of lecturers and students and to ensure uninterrupted teaching and learning activities, the Board of Directors of the University of Commerce on October 5 decided to switch all class schedules for Monday, October 6, for full-time, part-time, and international students to online learning on the Microsoft Teams platform.

The University of Foreign Languages , Vietnam National University , Hanoi also said that based on the complicated developments and the risk of flooding that may occur due to the impact of storm No. 11, in order to proactively prevent and minimize damage, the University's Principal requested to notify all lecturers, students, and trainees about implementing online learning on October 6 for all levels and training systems: full-time university students, students of the second training program (double degree), students of international joint programs, students of the second degree classes of the Work-study program, graduate students, and doctoral students.

The University of Industrial Fine Arts has also adjusted its study plan and exam schedule due to the impact of storm No. 11. The school's classes on October 6 switched from in-person to online; the exam classes scheduled on October 6 changed their exam schedule, the specific time will be updated and announced later.

The school said that the Training Management Department will continue to update notices and recommends that lecturers, students and units proactively follow information on the school's official channels.

All students of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment will switch to online learning on Monday, October 6, and Tuesday, October 7.
