How do Can Tho buses always stay clean and cool?

Can Tho bus drivers always take good care of their vehicles after each trip, ensuring they are in the best condition for the next journey.

One morning at the end of 2024, at the Can Tho bus station on Nguyen Van Linh Street (in Hung Loi Ward, Ninh Kieu District), driver Vo Quoc Linh (47 years old) was wiping the outside of the bus he was driving.

Mr. Linh carefully used a wet cloth to wipe down the car body and all the exterior windows. Afterward, he went inside to meticulously clean, wiping the floor and checking every nook and cranny, including the seats. This is a regular routine for this driver before embarking on a trip.

"Before starting a trip, I always do these things. After the car is clean, 5 minutes before departure, I turn on the air conditioning. This ensures it's clean, fragrant, and cool to welcome passengers," driver Linh said, adding that these are also the things other drivers do before starting a trip.

Mr. Linh currently drives a bus on the Can Tho - Vung Liem ( Vinh Long province) route, a distance of nearly 80km, one of the longest inter-provincial routes operating from Can Tho. Having been behind the wheel for over a decade, driver Linh always believes that every time he gets on the bus, he must dedicate all his mind and energy to the job.

Driver Nguyen Giac Hai, who drives the Ba Lang - O Mon - Lo Te route, cleans up after each trip.

At the Ba Láng bus station (Cai Rang district, Can Tho city), driver Nguyen Giac Hai, who drives the Ba Láng - O Mon - Lo Te route, is also cleaning the inside of his bus. Hai said that he and other drivers always consider their buses as their second homes. According to him, just as a clean and tidy home makes people happy and healthy, a clean and comfortable bus ensures passenger satisfaction.

According to the drivers, each bus is now equipped with many amenities to ensure the best experience for both passengers and drivers. In addition to air conditioning, the buses have Wi-Fi, multiple cameras, and onboard ticket printing equipment. Each route has different distances and corresponding fares; passengers inform the driver of their destination, and the driver prints the ticket and collects the fare.

Ticket printing equipment is available directly on the bus.

After five years of efforts to transform the appearance of Can Tho's buses, the old, dilapidated vehicles with their windows open for ventilation or spewing black smoke onto the streets have become a thing of the past. They have been replaced by modern, comfortable buses that meet emission standards to serve the people.

- The intersection of Lo Te and Kinh B extends to the Kien Giang Provincial Bus Station.

In addition, Can Tho currently has 10 bus routes connecting to provinces such as Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Dong Thap, and An Giang .
