According to TechSpot , following last week's attack on AMD, the IntelBroker hacking group continued to cause a stir by claiming to have successfully infiltrated Apple's systems. They reportedly stole the source code of critical internal tools, including AppleConnect-SSO, Apple-HWE-Confluence-Advanced, and AppleMacroPlugin, along with employee personal information and other sensitive data.
Among the stolen tools, AppleConnect-SSO plays a particularly important role. This is the authentication system that allows Apple employees to access most of the company's internal applications. The leak of this tool's source code could have serious security consequences for Apple.
IntelBroker claims to have hacked into Apple's systems.
Apple has yet to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, AMD has confirmed the attack and is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
IntelBroker is a relatively new hacking group that has quickly made a name for itself with a series of shocking cyberattacks. Previously, the group claimed to have attacked Los Angeles International Airport, the technology consulting firm Acuity, Africa's largest retailer Shoprite, and even Europol.
The attacks on Apple and AMD once again raise alarm bells about the increasingly serious state of cybersecurity. Large organizations, no matter how heavily protected, can still become targets of sophisticated attacks.
