On the afternoon of August 29, at Thong Nhat Hall (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), the Organizing Committee of The Music of ABBA Tour by the Swedish band ARRIVAL held a press conference to inform about upcoming concerts in Vietnam.
As part of the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Sweden diplomatic relations, the Hanoi Opera House, the Saigon Symphony Orchestra (SPO) and VietShow, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will bring the tour The Music of ABBA by the Swedish band ARRIVAL to Vietnam.
Sharing at the press conference, Ms. Phuong Ho - representative of the Organizing Committee said that The Music of ABBA tour will officially take place from October 5 to October 13, 2024 in three major cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi. Specifically, the tour will take place at Thong Nhat Hall (Independence Palace, Ho Chi Minh City) on October 5, Tien Son Sports Palace - Da Nang City on October 8 and at Hanoi Opera House Square on October 12.
ARRIVAL was founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1995 in Gothenburg, Sweden and quickly became one of the world's most famous and best-selling ABBA performing bands. Since its inception in 1995, the band has toured 70 countries and has appeared on numerous television and radio shows around the world. In 2024 alone, ARRIVAL from Sweden performed 80 shows around the world.
Notably, ARRIVAL is the only group to have been gifted a previously unreleased song by ABBA members Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. The song "Just A Notion" was released by ARRIVAL in 1999 and was released again by the original АВВА in 2021 on their latest album "Voyage".
The legendary music of ABBA, a symbol of beautiful youth and sharing, will resonate at major performance venues in Vietnam.
"Coming to The Music of ABBA, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the timeless melodies of ABBA's music, brought to life through emotional performances. Even more special, the tour will also feature Drumset Artist Åke Sundqvist, a musician from the original band ABBA," Ms. Phuong Ho shared.
Mr. Chu Anh Hung - Deputy Director of Hanoi Opera House also informed that The Music of ABBA is a large-scale program with the desire to bring ABBA's legendary songs to Vietnam for performance. At the same time, this is also one of the special programs to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Vietnam - Sweden diplomatic relations.
Three (03) music nights are staged into different programs, to reach the largest audience. Each venue is expected to have about 8,000 to more than 10,000 spectators in attendance.

According to Mr. Chu Anh Hung, ARRIVAL's "The Music of ABBA" Tour has sold out stadiums and theaters around the world and is the most amazing and authentic ABBA show.
"ABBA's songs have been associated with music lovers of the 7X, 8X generations and even more so the young generation today. ABBA's songs always touch the hearts of many music lovers. The organizers hope that through the music nights at The Music of ABBA, it will be a valuable spiritual gift for the ABBA music lovers of Vietnam" - Mr. Chu Anh Hung shared.
The Music of ABBA tour also marks the beginning of a vibrant international music season in Vietnam. Following this success, audiences will be immersed in a series of international music events such as: The 3rd International Classical Music Festival - ICMF at Hanoi Opera House on October 17, 2024; Disney Frozen in Concert tour in November 2024.
In addition to the shows, the organizers will hold an auction of some ABBA memorabilia such as vinyl records, musical instruments... that they used to tour around the world with. Fashion activities related to ABBA will also be implemented in the near future.
