TPO - On some streets of the capital, many strange ways of planting trees make people quite surprised with this unique way of planting trees.

On Le Duc Tho Street, near My Dinh National Stadium, dozens of large trees are planted in plastic pots about one meter high above the sidewalk.

The Barringtonia trees are all planted directly into the soil below the sidewalk, not in separate pots.

The "uprooted" planters have their bases not connected to the sidewalk.

Many tree stumps have become places for passersby to throw trash, very unsightly.

The flower pots are made of iron frames and black plastic surrounds. Many pots are crooked and have tire repair signs painted all over them.

In addition to the one meter high tree pots, on Nguyen Van Huyen Street, many trees are also covered with "iron armor" to protect them.

The iron fence is about 2 m high, built from the base to the trunk, very sturdy and fixed to the ground.

Each tree is wrapped and welded with iron in a different shape, along with a support shaft to prevent the tree from falling.

According to Mr. Lam, a security guard on Nguyen Van Huyen Street, this row of Dalbergia tomentosa trees has been wearing "iron armor" since 2020 when Dalbergia tomentosa trees had high value and were often stolen in the city. "Over time, the trees grew, and some protective fences hindered the growth of the trees. This fence also has many shortcomings when it is difficult to clean weeds and garbage inside the iron frame," Mr. Lam shared.
