The vehicles rolled along, carrying the delegation from the General Department of Logistics and Technology, Military Hospital 354, and several other units and benefactors, along with many heartfelt gifts, to Tuan Son commune, Lang Son province. Everyone on board was excited, because more than just a business trip, this was an opportunity to share and get closer to the people in the highlands.

The journey of gratitude began with its first stop at the spacious new home of Mr. and Mrs. Hung Minh Cay in Van Mieu village. Previously, due to their advanced age and frail health, they lived in a dilapidated, run-down house without the means to repair it. Now, thanks to the care and attention of the Army and local authorities, a new, sturdy, and warm home has been built. In the moment of receiving their new home, their eyes welled up with tears, and they clasped the hands of the delegation members as if to express their heartfelt gratitude.
After bidding farewell to Mr. Cay's family, the delegation continued its journey in various directions. In the simple houses, the veterans, their hair now gray, enthusiastically recounted stories of the war, of their fallen comrades on the battlefield. Some were wounded, their bodies still bearing the marks of battle, their steps unsteady, yet their voices were still vibrant, their eyes shining with the pride of a soldier from the past. Their stories filled the members of the delegation with even greater respect and gratitude for the silent sacrifices of their fathers' generation. The doctors and nurses of Military Hospital 354 diligently measured blood pressure, examined patients, dispensed medicine, gave gifts, and advised each person to take care of their health. This warm atmosphere seemed to erase the distance, further strengthening the bond between the military and the people.

This spirit of solidarity is not limited to families receiving government assistance; it is also evident in schools in the highlands. When the delegation stopped at Thon Moi School, the children rushed out into the yard, their laughter echoing, their bright eyes following the special guests. The entire schoolyard suddenly became unusually lively. Gifts such as water purifiers, electric fans, warm blankets, books, and school supplies were handed directly to the teachers and each child. This was not only practical support but also encouragement for the teachers to be more steadfast in their journey of teaching in the border region, giving the students more faith and strength to nurture their dreams. It is known that for this trip, the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, Military Hospital 354, and other units and benefactors mobilized nearly 200 million VND to organize practical policy activities.
Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Du, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Hospital 354, shared: “Each trip to visit the people is not only an opportunity to give gifts and provide medical examinations, but more importantly, it allows us to be close to the people, listen to them, and understand them. Through this, each officer, doctor, and nurse of the hospital is trained and further develops their sense of responsibility, continuing the tradition and moral principle of 'drinking water, remembering the source,' and 'repaying gratitude' that the Army always upholds.”
