Projects that open the way to the future

(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - Joining the joyful atmosphere of the whole country making achievements to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945 - 2023), cadres, engineers and workers on key traffic projects in the province have strived to compete in labor to bring the projects to the finish line soon. Thereby, contributing to the socio -economic development of the province.

Currently, on the Tra Khuc River, through Son Tinh and Tu Nghia districts, a cluster of projects is being implemented, including Tra Khuc 3 Bridge; the northern bank of Tra Khuc River, Son Tinh district and the road connecting Thach Bich - Tinh Phong Bridge, with a total investment of nearly 1,750 billion VND. These projects, when completed, will create new momentum for socio-economic development, especially trade, service and urban development.

Tra Khuc 3 Bridge has a total investment of 850 billion VND, started construction at the end of 2022, and is expected to be completed in March 2025. This is the 6th bridge across Tra Khuc River, connecting the center of Son Tinh district with Tu Nghia district, connecting traffic, facilitating travel for people in the region, changing the face of the whole area. After Tra Khuc 3 Bridge is completed, Tu Nghia district will focus on developing trade, services, and urban areas in areas belonging to Nghia Ky and Nghia Thuan communes. Chairman of Tu Nghia District People's Committee Nguyen Dang Vinh said that currently, the district and commune are strengthening the management of land status quo, creating favorable conditions to attract investment and develop in the direction of "wherever bridges and roads are opened, the economy will shift and develop accordingly".

Besides Tra Khuc 3 Bridge, the project to prevent landslides on the northern bank of Tra Khuc River in Son Tinh District is also being urgently accelerated by the investor and contractor to reach the finish line. This embankment has a total length of 5.13km, located in Tinh Son and Tinh Ha communes, with a total investment of 200 billion VND. The project started in April 2023 and will be completed and put into operation at the end of 2023. Currently, the units are focusing on construction day and night to complete important items before September 30, 2023; at the same time, implementing solutions to protect the project when floods come and the water level of Tra Khuc River rises.

In 2022, the province also implemented the project of the Road connecting Thach Bich Bridge to Tinh Phong, with a scale of 6.11km, total investment of 694 billion VND. The route passes through Quang Ngai City (3.05km) and Son Tinh District (3.06km); the total land area recovered for the project is 31ha. The goal is to create synchronization in traffic infrastructure, serve convenient travel for people, relieve traffic pressure on National Highway 1 and routes leading to Tinh Phong Industrial Park, VSIP Quang Ngai. Currently, local authorities are focusing on resolving problems related to site clearance, handing over to the construction unit to speed up progress.

Currently, Quang Ngai is focusing on accelerating the progress of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road to connect with the coastal roads of the two provinces of Quang Nam and Binh Dinh. When completed, the route will connect and form a continuous coastal road axis, promoting the socio-economic development of the eastern localities of Quang Ngai; at the same time, contributing to connecting and developing the Central Key Economic Zone.

Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road (phase 1) has been completed and put into use.

The Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road has a total length of nearly 100km, starting at the connection point with the main North - South axis of Van Tuong urban area, in Binh Hoa commune (Binh Son); the end point of the route is in Pho Chau commune (Duc Pho town) connecting with the coastal road of Binh Dinh province. The project has a total investment of about 5,600 billion VND, divided into 2 phases. Phase I (Dung Quat - My Khe, My Khe - Tra Khuc section) has been completed and put into use, with a total length of more than 30km. Phase II has a total length of about 70km, the implementation cost is about 4,000 billion VND, divided into many component projects. Currently, component projects IIa (total investment of nearly 1,200 billion VND) and IIb (nearly 900 billion VND) are being focused on accelerating construction progress.

From now until 2024, Quang Ngai will focus its financial resources to complete the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road Project Phase II, with an expected capital of 290 billion VND to be allocated in 2024. Currently, taking advantage of favorable weather, the construction unit is focusing on accelerating progress, determined to close and open all 9 bridges on the route; at the same time, increasing vehicles and transporting earth to fill the approach road soon. The investor and localities where the project passes through are focusing on site clearance, implementing the construction of 5 resettlement areas to relocate people, reclaim residential land, and hand over to the project construction unit.

It is expected that in December 2023, Quang Ngai will officially start the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Road project. This route has a total investment of 3,500 billion VND, with a length of nearly 27km. Currently, the project is focusing on accelerating the progress of site clearance, preparing material mines and completing investment procedures to be eligible to start construction as planned.

The Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Road Project is a large-scale, interconnected project that creates momentum for the province's socio-economic development, invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, and is expected to be completed in September 2025. The project passes through 3 localities, including Binh Son district, Son Tinh district and Quang Ngai city, with 11 communes and towns affected. To serve the clearance of the main route, the province built 10 resettlement areas, relocating 318 households to give up land to open the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road, with a total planned area of about 29.5 hectares.

Due to the nature, scale and progress requirements of the project, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to establish the Steering Committee for the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Road Project, headed by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dang Van Minh. The Steering Committee meets periodically once a month to assess the progress and set out plans for the coming time. Recently, at the second meeting, the Steering Committee agreed to set out the project schedule: Issue a notice of land acquisition before August 30, 2023; approve the first compensation plan before October 30, 2023; approve the construction drawing design and estimate before October 30, 2023; organize the selection of contractors and start construction in December 2023.

This is a key project of the province and is included in the list of works to welcome the 21st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. Localities with Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road passing through all see this as an opportunity to exploit advantages, focus on socio-economic development. Especially exploiting land funds along the route; clearing traffic, connecting to bring products and goods to markets. At the same time, attracting investment, developing a multi-sector economy, contributing to building Quang Ngai to soon become a fairly developed province in the Central region.
