Key projects create momentum for Bac Ninh to rise up in the new era

National position and stature on the world aviation map

Gia Binh International Airport (Bac Ninh Province) is planned with a scale of nearly 2 thousand hectares, only 40 km from the center of Hanoi . This is the aviation gateway of the capital and the northern region, and is also a major transit port, the aviation "junction" of the region. With a convenient connection location between Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong, the airport meets the increasing demand for air transport, affirming the position and stature of the country on the world aviation map.

According to the plan, Gia Binh International Airport is built according to the standards of a level 4E international airport with a model of shared civil use - national security and defense. In particular, the Airport is oriented to develop according to the new generation smart airport model. All processes from check-in, security to boarding will apply the most modern technologies.

Regarding the development roadmap, in the first phase until 2030, the project will complete 2 runways, a passenger terminal, a VIP terminal, along with technical and logistics items. When completed, the airport will be able to handle about 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tons of cargo per year. After 2030, the airport will continue to be expanded with 4 runways, increasing the capacity to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo per year.

This development roadmap is also linked to the goal of upgrading service standards, becoming one of the 10 most beautiful and friendly airports in the world by 2037. To realize this goal, the Ministry of Public Security started the project on August 19. Currently, construction contractors are focusing resources to turn the project from drawing board to reality.

With systematic planning, synchronous construction and strict compliance with international standards, Gia Binh International Airport emerges as a proud "bird" in the Northeast sky, a bridge connecting Bac Ninh and neighboring areas with the world, developing trade on a global scale.

Along with the Gia Binh International Airport project, a route connecting the airport to Hanoi Capital has been planned and implemented, becoming one of the important national projects, a key project in the transport sector. The project was emphasized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh that it needs to be the "fastest, straightest, most beautiful, most effective" route and has important significance in promoting the country's image to international friends, calling for investment and attracting tourism.

According to the plan, the route connecting the airport to Hanoi Capital is about 35 km long, with an extremely impressive cross-section of up to 120 m, with a total estimated investment of 71,150 billion VND. The starting point of the route is at the airport in Gia Binh district (old) and the end point is at the intersection of Tu Lien bridge approach road with Hanoi's Ring Road 3. In Hanoi, the route is 14 km long, with an investment cost of 42,450 billion VND.

Delegates at the project groundbreaking ceremony

The 7 km section from the Bac Ninh border to the intersection of Ring Road 3 with the Hanoi - Lang Son Expressway will be completely rebuilt. The remaining 7 km section will coincide with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway and Ring Road 3 will be widened from 35 m to 120 m. This expansion will help increase traffic capacity, creating a modern and spacious urban traffic axis.

The remaining part, in Bac Ninh, is 21 km long, with a cross-section of 120 m wide, with an estimated investment cost of VND 28,700 billion. These parameters show the synchronous investment and scale of the project; at the same time, the goal is not only the route but also an economic corridor, connecting two key regions.

With a modern and large-scale design, this connecting route is expected to significantly shorten the travel time from Gia Binh International Airport to the capital, reducing traffic pressure on existing national highways. Moreover, it also promotes the development of areas along the route, expanding the development space of the capital region.

Developing model industrial park infrastructure

Towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Hanoi - Bac Giang Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Investment Joint Stock Company has solemnly held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Song Mai - Nghia Trung Industrial Park infrastructure investment project. With a total investment of more than VND 2,800 billion, the project is planned synchronously on an area of 197.1 hectares, located in Viet Yen ward and Da Mai ward.

The main items of the project include: Production factory area, technical operation area, modern wastewater treatment system, accommodation area for workers and experts, and synchronous auxiliary works. In particular, the highlight of the project is the service and accommodation area designed specifically to serve the life and activities of the workforce working in the industrial park, contributing to building a professional, convenient and sustainable working environment.

Immediately after receiving the decision approving the investment policy, the investor promptly started implementing compensation and site clearance work, closely coordinating with departments, branches and local authorities.

According to the investor representative, with the capacity and reputation that have been affirmed through many projects, the active companionship and timely support from all levels of government, within just 4 months, the entire 50 hectares of phase 1 of the project have completed the necessary legal procedures. The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has officially issued a decision on land allocation (land lease), creating a solid foundation for the project to enter the infrastructure construction phase.

Thanks to the continuous efforts in the implementation, the Company received trust and support, the Provincial People's Committee decided to allocate an additional 90 hectares of land to continue implementing the project. This expansion increased the total area of phase 1 to 139.8 hectares, creating favorable conditions for the formation of a large-scale industrial park.

Currently, the investor is focusing maximum resources, speeding up construction progress; at the same time, actively coordinating with functional agencies to complete the connection of the additional assigned area with the original 50-hectare land, creating a land fund and synchronous infrastructure to attract secondary investors.

With the implementation of a series of key projects in the area, including national key projects, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued a document on the implementation of the "24-hour Green Channel" and "60% Green Channel" mechanisms in carrying out administrative procedures for key projects.

According to Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the classification of project types, especially the application of "24-hour Green Channel" for key projects is being vigorously implemented by the province to promote investment progress and infrastructure development, especially strategic infrastructure. Priority projects are regularly updated and supplemented, ensuring timeliness and efficiency in management. At the same time, all relevant departments and branches are required to clearly define responsibilities and closely coordinate with investors to implement projects most smoothly.

In particular, local authorities need to accompany investors in site clearance work at the fastest pace, creating conditions for the project to come into operation soon.
