Coming to Dak Phoi land in 1974, when everything was still wild, Mr. Nie Sieng in Jie Yuk village started from scratch. He reclaimed and cultivated each plot of land himself to build his career. During nearly half a century of attachment, he and his family members have turned the original farm into a valuable asset.
Currently, Mr. Nie Sieng's family owns an area of 3 hectares of coffee, which is systematically intercropped with many types of crops that bring high economic value. This diverse crop system includes cocoa, pepper and some other fruit trees, all of which are in a stable business phase, creating a sustainable source of income for the family.

Recalling the early difficult days, Mr. Nie Sieng confided: “In the past, due to manual production methods, mainly relying on experience, productivity and output were not high. There were times when agricultural product prices were low, after deducting input costs, the family's income was not much. In recent years, with the introduction of technology, farming has become easier, but has brought many times higher economic efficiency." Talking about this, Mr. Nie Sieng explained: Applying scientific measures of care, fertilization, and pest control has helped his family's garden yield high yields. In recent years, his family has harvested more than 10 tons of coffee beans each year. In addition, income is also regularly supplemented from intercropping crops such as cocoa, pepper, etc.
Now that he is old, Mr. Nie Sieng no longer directly takes on all the heavy farming work as before. He entrusts all the work of caring for and exploiting the perennial garden to his children and grandchildren. He often reminds his children and grandchildren to always protect the land and maintain farming to develop the economy and build a prosperous life for the family. In 2024, thanks to the stable income from the farming, Mr. Nie Sieng's family built a new, spacious house, with an area of 200 m², worth up to 2.5 billion VND.
In Lieng Keh village, about 3 km from the center of Dak Phoi commune, the economic model of Mr. Y Sia Rlưk's family is a bright spot for villagers to learn from. On an area of 2.5 hectares, his family built a closed garden - pond - barn model, bringing high economic efficiency.
Mr. Y Sia has cleverly combined farming (coffee, cocoa, pepper) with livestock. In addition to the main garden, he maintains a variety of livestock: fish ponds, raising cows, goats, chickens, ducks. This combination helps his family avoid risks when the price of a certain item fluctuates. In particular, the abundant source of organic fertilizer from livestock has been reused directly for the garden, helping to significantly reduce input costs, while increasing soil fertility, contributing to increased productivity and yield for crops.

Mr. Y Sia Rlưk shared that the secret to helping his family's comprehensive economic model achieve an income of more than 1 billion VND per year is not luck, but thanks to the change in thinking from traditional experience to applying science and technology to production stages. For him, in modern agriculture , the factor of applying technology to production plays an important role.
