At the Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressway project, the more than 48 km section passing through Dak Lak province is under immense pressure to meet deadlines after falling behind schedule as requested by the Prime Minister. Therefore, the Ministry of Construction has issued a document criticizing and demanding that the investor urgently reallocate work from underperforming contractors to ensure the overall progress.
According to the plan, the entire route will be officially put into operation before April 15th. Simultaneously, the intelligent transportation system and toll stations are also being expedited to ensure they are ready for toll collection before April 30th.

To date, the project has achieved over 95% of its contract value. On the construction site, more than 600 engineers and workers, along with over 200 pieces of machinery and equipment, are continuously working towards the goal of opening the main route to traffic in April and completing the entire project, including the Tuy An tunnel, by June.
Not only the Chi Thanh - Van Phong section, but many neighboring sections are also rapidly nearing completion. The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, 88 km long, passing through Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces , is currently the longest of the 12 component projects in the 2021-2025 period. As of mid-March, construction output had reached nearly 97%, with the handover and operation of the main route expected to be completed on April 15th.
On the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon section, which is over 70 km long and passes through Gia Lai, both construction packages have been completed and approved for acceptance by the State Inspection Council. The project is now only awaiting on-site inspection by Road Management Area III before being put into operation.

Meanwhile, the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway, nearly 62 km long, passing through Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces, has reached 99% of its contract value. Contractors are working hard to complete the final items, striving to put the entire main route into operation from the beginning of April.
In the Central Highlands region, the first phase of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway, spanning 117.5 km, has also seen positive progress. According to the Vietnam Road Administration, construction output for component project 1 has reached 83%. Notably, approximately 20 km of the project has been essentially completed at 100% of the contract value. The investor is finalizing acceptance procedures to put this section into operation before April 30th.
According to the Ministry of Construction, nearly 3,345 km of expressways have been put into operation nationwide to date. This year, many expansion and upgrading projects will continue to be implemented to alleviate congestion and enhance traffic safety on key routes.
In the long term, the plan until 2050 identifies Vietnam's expressway network as comprising 43 routes with a total length of approximately 9,000 km. To realize this goal, the estimated investment capital requirement is over 3.2 trillion VND, focusing on the North-South axis along with dozens of connecting routes in the North, Central, Central Highlands, and Southern regions.
