As experts have assessed, the champions of this tournament are mostly familiar faces on the track, requiring endurance and a strong physical foundation as key factors.
Good preparation before SEA Games 33
Many athletes who won the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 championship are now key members of the national team preparing to participate in the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand at the end of December this year.

At the Olympic Aqua Warriors event, athlete Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong continued to prove that she was completely "out of her league" compared to the other athletes when she finished with a time of (1 hour 14 minutes 56 seconds), 15 minutes ahead of the second place Nguyen Thi Khanh Ly.
"I am very happy to win the championship because my daily training efforts have paid off. Right after completing this race, tomorrow morning (August 3) I have to go to Da Nang to gather with the national team to prepare for the SEA Games with the goal of winning the Gold Medal," athlete Kim Cuong confidently affirmed after winning the championship.
Another female face that also impressed with her beautiful face and strong body is Ton Nu My Ngoc - who won first place in the mixed doubles Aqua Warriors Relay Olympic event. Ton Nu My Ngoc (born in 2003) is a member of the Swimming - Diving Club in Da Nang, joined the swimming team of the city on the banks of the Han River since the age of 6 and is currently a key factor in the national swimming team.
Like Kim Cuong, right after the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 tournament, My Ngoc will be in Da Nang to gather with the team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.

"This is the third time I have participated in the Aqua Warriors tournament organized by Dan Tri newspaper and Bolt Event and I was very lucky to change the color of the medal. The previous two times (held in Ha Long and Van Don, Quang Ninh province), I participated in the Full Aqua Warriors event and came in second, but this time I came in first.
This tournament is very difficult as it gathers many good athletes. That's why winning first place makes me very proud because my efforts have paid off," Ton Nu My Ngoc expressed.

In the men's category, the champions who are currently the core members of the national team preparing for the SEA Games taking place at the end of this year were also named. In the Olympic Aqua Warriors category, athlete Hoang Van Hai excellently finished first with a time of (1 hour 05 minutes 04 seconds).
Notably, this championship helped Hoang Van Hai set a record when he won the championship for the third consecutive time in this very harsh tournament (the previous two times took place in Van Don in September 2024 and Ha Long in April 2025).

"This championship brought me more emotions when the tournament was held in my hometown Quang Tri. That's why I received enthusiastic support from my extended family and won first place as expected. This tournament is very interesting when the athletes compete in the clear blue sea water, on a beautiful running route", athlete Hoang Van Hai happily expressed when he finished first.
The joy was doubled for Hoang Van Hai when his teammate in the national team, Vu Dinh Duan, also won the championship in the Sprint Aqua Warriors event. At the 32nd Sea Games, Hoang Van Hai, along with Vu Dinh Duan, Nguyen Hoang Dung, and Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen, won the bronze medal in the Aquathlon team event.
Therefore, the Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 championship is considered a motivation for both of them to be determined to change the medal color at the upcoming 33rd SEA Games. “In December in Thailand, winter is quite similar to the weather in the Central region of Vietnam. Therefore, competing in this tournament is also a good opportunity for me to experience the competition weather in Thailand.
Our training intensity before the SEA Games was very intense. Only then could I keep up with my performance before the big tournament. In one day, we could practice two or three shifts. We could swim in the morning, run in the afternoon, or swim in the morning, cycle at noon and run in the afternoon,” Vu Dinh Duan expressed after his convincing championship in the sunny and windy land of Quang Tri.
Many promising young faces
Aqua Warriors Quang Tri 2025 has also revealed many young talents who will be the successor team for the national team athletes in the future.
In the Junior Aqua Warriors event, athlete Hoang Hai Nam (born in 2016), from Viet Hung ward, Hanoi, successfully "avenged" by finishing first with a time of 20 minutes and 41 seconds. At the Aqua Warriors Halong Bay 2025 tournament held in April, Hai Nam had finished first in the Kids Aqua Warriors event, but his achievement was not recognized due to an unfortunate violation (taking off his shirt while competing and finishing).

"At the 2025 Aqua Warriors Quang Tri tournament, I was a little worried about my son, when he moved from the Kids Aqua Warriors category to the Junior Aqua Warriors category and had to compete with many older students. However, he competed well in both the swimming and running competitions to win first place," said Hoang Van Hien, father and coach of Hoang Hai Nam.
To achieve the above achievements, Hoang Hai Nam spent all his time practicing throughout this summer. "On average, I practice 6 sessions per week, in the morning I practice swimming, in the afternoon I practice running or vice versa. I am very happy that my training efforts have paid off," the athlete born in 2016 expressed.
Another notable face is athlete Nguyen Huu Bao Khang (born in 2018), from Vung Ang ward, Ha Tinh city, who also won first place in the Kids Aqua Warriors event with a time of 13 minutes and 58 seconds. "I discovered that he had a talent for swimming and running since he was young, so I encouraged him to practice at the club. This is also the first time he has participated in the Aqua Warriors tournament, but I am very happy and proud that he won the gold medal," said Mr. Vuong Dinh Dung, Bao Khang's coach.

While Bao Khang won the Kids Aqua Warriors championship in his first time participating, Kim Nguyen Nguyen Thao impressed with his second consecutive championship in the same year. "I am very happy to continue to win the championship. At Aqua Warriors Halong Bay 2025 in April, the running course was more difficult, but this time the running course was more beautiful. If I have the chance this September, I will continue to compete in the tournament in Van Don, and next year I will move up to compete in the Junior event," Thao Kim expressed after winning the championship.
