On the morning of June 19, implementing a simulated drill, the special motorbike squad of the Hanoi Traffic Police Department coordinated with forces under the Ministry of Public Security to pick up and guide the international delegation from Noi Bai airport to their accommodation and to their workplace.
At the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, on the evening of June 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to Vietnam. This is the 5th time he has visited Vietnam (2 official visits (in 2001 and 2013) and 2 APEC summits in Hanoi and Da Nang (in 2006 and 2017)). The visit takes place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Basic Principles of Vietnam-Russia Friendship (1994 - 2024) and towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2025. President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Vietnam is a foreign policy activity of special significance.
On the same morning, the Hanoi Traffic Police motorbike team took part in a drill. The leading team deployed in an arrow shape, with 3 cars in front and 4 cars behind. The 3 cars in front were tasked with clearing the way and stopping vehicles passing through the intersection. The cars behind would 'lock the tail', preventing other vehicles from entering the convoy.
Among the fleet of special supercars serving the Russian president, there is an Aurus Senat limousine carrying Mr. Putin. This is a 6-ton armored car, equipped with bulletproof technology and has been Mr. Putin's main means of transportation since 2018.
The entire development of the Aurus Senat took about five years. The armored vehicle is about 6.6 meters long and weighs about 6.5 tons, equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 598 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic transmission system.
The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. When faced with an unavoidable collision, the Aurus Senat can automatically move the passenger seat to a safer position, fasten all seat belts and close all windows. In an emergency, the rear trunk opens from the inside, providing an additional escape route for passengers.
The Aurus Senat's body is armored to withstand armor-piercing bullets, sniper bullets, and grenades. The glass is 6cm thick tempered glass that can withstand bullets, and the pneumatic system inside the car can withstand chemical attacks. The tires are specially designed so that even if hit by bullets, the car can still move to take the leader to safety.
