TPO - On the 5th day of Tet, as crowds of people returned to Ho Chi Minh City after the Tet holiday, several volunteer groups also prepared water and bread to distribute free of charge to passersby.
| Mr. Nguyen Le Duy, an official from the People's Committee of Thanh Duc commune, Ben Luc district (Long An province), along with his group of friends, were present near the Ben Luc bridge slope on National Highway 1, in the section passing through Ben Luc district, to distribute drinking water and cold towels to people returning to Ho Chi Minh City from the Mekong Delta. This year, Mr. Duy's group prepared 10,000 bottles of water and 1,000 loaves of bread. |
| The sign announcing free bottled water quickly attracted attention. This is a very meaningful gesture, helping passersby alleviate some of their fatigue, especially in the hot weather after Tet. |
Besides Duy's free water distribution group, there's also "Tommy" Tèo's volunteer car repair group. |
Many residents received free water from the volunteer group. |
| Many gifts, including a bottle of mineral water and a meat sandwich, were handed out to passersby to help alleviate fatigue and the heat. |
| "Coming all the way from Ca Mau and receiving such kindness from the people of Ben Luc is truly precious. My whole family has traveled a rather long journey, and these sips of water are so sweet. Thank you, people of Long An," said Phan Ngoc Phuc emotionally. |
| "I am deeply grateful and moved to receive this free gift while I was tired and exhausted after a long journey. This is a very meaningful act, not only helping me and many others to regain strength to continue our journey but also providing spiritual encouragement," Tuan expressed. |
| This meaningful act also demonstrates compassion for those in difficult circumstances, those who are struggling to return to their daily lives after the Lunar New Year. |
This charitable task force has received support from philanthropists and local communities, thereby spreading a spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance, and providing motivation for migrant workers. |
Even though no one knew each other, the street was still bustling with greetings, thanks, and wishes for a peaceful new year. |
