Half a century has passed, but the heroic memories of the historic April days of 1975, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, remain vivid in the minds of the heroic soldiers of Vinh Phuc province who bravely fought until the nation's final victory.

Fifty years after the reunification of the country, veteran and Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Colonel Nguyen Vi Hoi, residing in Lien Bao Ward, Vinh Yen City, still vividly remembers the heroic days of fighting in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign and the moment he witnessed the overwhelming joy of the entire nation on April 30, 1975. In that historic moment, veteran Nguyen Vi Hoi, as the squad leader of Squad 7, Company 9, Battalion 9, Regiment 64, along with the swift-moving troops of the 320th Division, 3rd Corps, launched a deep penetration attack to seize the Police Headquarters, contributing to the collapse of the Saigon puppet regime.

The Vinh Phuc Provincial Museum, during the historic April days 50 years after the country's liberation, is the reunion place of two comrades and two Heroes of the People's Armed Forces of Vinh Phuc province in the resistance war against the US for national salvation: soldiers Nguyen Van Thoa and Nguyen Quang Loc. In the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, as A72 shoulder-fired missile operators, soldiers Nguyen Van Thoa and Nguyen Quang Loc were assigned the task of coordinating with combat units to penetrate deep into enemy-controlled areas, control and destroy enemy aircraft, and support our tanks and infantry in the liberation of Saigon. Applying their short-term training knowledge flexibly to combat practice, in the resistance war against the US for national salvation and especially in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, the two Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Nguyen Van Thoa and Nguyen Quang Loc, destroyed a total of 18 US-puppet aircraft, making a significant contribution to the great victory of Spring 1975.

The war is long over, but the memories of that fiery era remain vivid in the minds of the heroes of a heroic nation, including the heroes of the People's Armed Forces of Vinh Phuc province who bravely fought, contributing their small part to the nation's ultimate victory, allowing the country to blossom with independence for generations to come.
