Gathering rural youth
Meeting Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Huyen, Secretary of the Dinh My Commune Youth Union, one afternoon in March, we truly understood the dedication of this Youth Union official. Given the unique characteristics of the rural area, where young people often work far from home or are busy with farming and business, gathering them together is a difficult task. Ms. Huyen boldly implemented a "softening" approach to education . She integrated the history of the Youth Union and the traditions of her homeland into games like "Ringing the Golden Bell," quizzes with prizes during summer activities, and football matches. Information on policies and laws was concisely conveyed through loudspeakers during breaks between matches, or through engaging short cultural performances.
Understanding the smartphone usage habits of young people, Ms. Huyen created Zalo groups and Facebook pages for the Youth Union to serve as effective "communication channels." Instead of lengthy documents, messages about patriotism or new policies were designed by her in the form of infographics and short clips (1-3 minutes) that were easy to understand and remember.
One of the key factors contributing to the prestige of this female Secretary of the Commune Youth Union is her viewpoint: Political education must be linked to the immediate interests of the people. Ms. Huyen believes that to unite young people, the Youth Union must work alongside them in economic development. At the launch ceremony of Youth Month 2026, she and the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee mobilized resources to implement projects and activities with a total budget of 425 million VND, notably providing capital support for young entrepreneurs with 300 million VND.
Besides assisting with loans through the Social Policy Bank, she also organizes training courses on production techniques, career counseling, and digital transformation. Through these training sessions, she helps young people understand that legitimately enriching themselves is also a way to contribute to their homeland.
Looking at the list of youth projects in Dinh My commune for 2026, many are impressed, from supporting the construction of rural traffic bridges (50 million VND), building a youth project for a Pickleball court (40 million VND) to donating scholarships and textbooks to poor students and planting 1,000 trees. The commune's Youth Union also takes the lead in supporting small traders to apply cashless payment methods - an inevitable trend in the local digital transformation.
Achievements for the community
As the Secretary of the Phu Hoa Commune Youth Union, Ms. Le Vu Dan Thanh, along with the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union, has implemented many practical projects and activities, affirming the pioneering spirit of young people in building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
Not only did she participate in theoretical discussions, but Ms. Thanh also directly joined the youth union members in various initiatives. A prime example is the "Youth-Managed Road Project: Bright, Green, Clean, and Beautiful" in Kenh Dao hamlet, spanning 5km. Another example is the image of volunteers in their green shirts diligently planting 300 new trees in Phu Tay hamlet and Hoa Tay A residential area, contributing to a transformation of the local landscape.
Understanding the concerns of rural youth regarding capital and employment, Ms. Thanh proactively coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to provide timely support. In 2025, the Commune Youth Union introduced 5 members to access employment-generating capital, totaling 500 million VND. Currently, the Commune Youth Union manages 10 savings and loan groups with outstanding loans exceeding 24.6 billion VND, helping many young people develop their businesses and stabilize their lives right in their hometowns.
The spirit of mutual support and compassion has always been a priority for Ms. Thanh, demonstrated through her social welfare activities. A notable example is her collaboration in building three new charitable houses for disadvantaged families (each house valued at approximately 60 million VND). "Every task, big or small, is geared towards the benefit of the people and the growth of young people," Ms. Dan Thanh shared.
Through their practical actions, the two female Youth Union officials, Le Vu Dan Thanh and Tran Thi Ngoc Huyen, are exemplary role models of youth leaders in the Youth Union today.
