This candidate has type 1 diabetes and must wear a blood glucose monitoring device on their arm.
At the exam center at Binh An Secondary School (District 8), one student had to use a wheelchair and was carried into the exam room by an invigilator. That student was Mai Xuan Trieu, a 9th-grade student from Phan Dang Luu Secondary School. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at the age of 3, making movement very difficult.
However, Trieu never lost heart; on the contrary, he became an exemplary student who overcame difficulties to excel in his studies. For many years, Trieu consistently achieved good results and was a top student in his class. This young man said that he had put Hung Vuong High School (District 5) as his first choice. This school is close to where his mother works.

A candidate is assisted by invigilators in getting into the examination room.
Mr. Pho Trong Huy, Vice Chairman of the Examination Council of Binh An Secondary School, said that Trieu expressed his wish to sit and take the exam in the room as originally arranged. Therefore, the examination council arranged for someone to assist and carry Trieu to the examination room, creating the best conditions for him to complete the exam.
At the Hoa Lu Secondary School examination center (Thu Duc City), there was also a special candidate. This male student burned his hand before the exam, so the examination board arranged a separate room for him, provided assistance with writing, and installed surveillance cameras throughout the examination process.
