Tay Ninh Power Company (the Company) has been making efforts to implement measures and solutions to enhance electrical safety during the rainy and stormy season, especially in the current complex situation of climate change.

Early and proactive prevention

According to Nguyen Huy Phuong, Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Power Company, with the goal of "preventing electrical accidents among the people and preventing power supply interruptions due to subjective reasons," the company has issued a plan for disaster prevention and control since the beginning of the year, conducting comprehensive inspections of the power grid system in the area, especially in vulnerable areas, low-lying areas, riverside areas, and densely populated residential areas.

They constantly innovate their communication methods, combining visual aids with posters and banners displayed at commune People's Committees, schools, and markets; disseminating information through social media, local radio systems, and sending leaflets to individual households, especially in rural areas; and integrating electrical safety content into neighborhood meetings, associations, and organizations.

Mr. Tran Van Cuong (residing in Vinh Hung commune) said: "The local power company's awareness campaign is very reasonable and effective. Through the campaign, we recognize the potential risks and necessary actions to ensure electrical safety during the rainy and stormy season. As a result, we cooperate with the power company to inspect the entire power line system, replace some old equipment, and address potential safety hazards."

Many residential areas have proactively trimmed trees near power lines, protected the power line corridor, invited the power company to assist in safety monitoring, and integrated awareness campaigns into community activities. In addition, coordination with local authorities to inspect and address unsafe power lines after the meter has been intensified. This demonstrates the high effectiveness of the awareness campaigns and the increasing awareness among residents.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Phuong emphasized: "Tay Ninh Power Company proactively took early and long-term measures, requiring its subordinate units to conduct comprehensive inspections of the power system, address defects, and reinforce and replace equipment to improve the stability of the power grid. Thanks to these efforts, the entire power grid in the area has been inspected and reinforced to a safe level, ready to serve customers during the rainy and stormy season. In the coming time, the power sector will continue to maintain 24/7 inspection and on-call duty, enhance proactive measures, modernize power grid monitoring, and coordinate more closely with commune-level authorities in inspection and detection." and handling violations of electrical safety corridors. Nguyen Ngoc De, team leader of the Vinh Hung Electricity Management Team, informed: “To prepare for unusual weather developments during the rainy and stormy season, we have strengthened the Disaster Prevention and Control Command Board, ready to respond and ensure continuous power supply for customers; we regularly disseminate information on electricity safety during the rainy and stormy season so that people can proactively understand and implement it.”

Similarly, the Can Duoc Power Management Team focuses on concretizing directives from higher authorities in ensuring electrical safety during the rainy and stormy season. The unit is always ready to operate the power grid safely and stably, minimizing electrical incidents. Simultaneously, the Power Company proactively coordinates with communes to inspect the power grid system and power lines after the meter, and recommends that customers immediately rectify unsafe lines to avoid risks, especially during the rainy and stormy season; diversifying communication efforts to ensure customers understand and fully comply with safety regulations and use electricity efficiently and rationally.

According to Phan Quoc Viet, Team Leader of the Can Duoc Electricity Management Team, the rainy and stormy season poses many risks to electrical safety. Even a slight lapse in vigilance can lead to tragic accidents. Therefore, the Electricity Company always strictly adheres to and implements directives from superiors; deploys personnel and equipment ready to respond to situations; and coordinates in public awareness campaigns to help people use electricity safely and efficiently.
