Efforts to increase power supply to meet the socio-economic development requirements of the port city

According to General Director of the Northern Power Corporation Nguyen Duc Thien, this is one of the power grid infrastructure projects that the Northern Power Corporation has put up a sign to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Corporation's establishment and the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of the revolutionary electricity industry of Vietnam.

The Kien Thuy 110kV transmission line and transformer station project with a total investment value of 125 billion VND was assigned by the Northern Power Corporation to Hai Phong Power Company to manage and implement construction from December 2023, to be completed and energized at the end of June 2024.

The power line and transformer station system operated safely after energization.

After 6 months of efforts to both focus on site clearance and implement construction with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", the units have completed the construction of 13 pole positions, including 2 single-body poles, 11 shaped steel poles and pulled a new 3.8km of 110kV ACSR 300 double-circuit line...

Along with that, the construction units also completed the construction of a 110kV transformer station with a capacity of 2x63 MVA (phase 1 installed 1 63MVA transformer); 2 self-contained transformers 100kVA 22/0.4kV; 3 3-phase FS6 110kV circuit breakers along with a system of synchronous equipment such as: fire protection system, 3 22kV output lines connecting to compartments J04, 05, 06...

General Director of the Northern Power Corporation Nguyen Duc Thien emphasized that Hai Phong city is a large city of the country, a center of industry, seaports, and developed logistics services, and at the same time is also the center of economy , culture, health, education, science, trade and technology of the entire northern coastal region of Vietnam.

Hai Phong is also a locality in the top of the country in terms of socio-economic growth and ensuring and increasing electricity supply always plays an important role in the current and future development of the Port City.

The Northern Power Corporation has worked closely with Hai Phong in efforts to renovate and upgrade the power grid to meet the increasing electricity demand of economic sectors in the city.

Delegates participated in attaching a signboard to the project to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Corporation's establishment and the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese revolutionary electricity industry.

In the period of 2021-2025, the Northern Power Corporation has implemented 39 projects with a total investment of over 4,000 billion VND, of which 10 projects have been completed and 29 projects are under investment/construction.

In the 2024-2025 period alone, the Northern Power Corporation is implementing many important 110kV projects in Hai Phong city with a total investment of about 1,600 billion VND. Of which, Hai Phong Power Company is implementing 55 projects with a total investment of about 826 billion VND, including 14 110kV grid projects, 31 medium and low voltage projects and 10 other projects; the Power Development Project Management Board is implementing 16 110kV projects with a total investment of 1,726.6 billion VND...

Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Anh Quan said that, as the growth pole of the whole region, Hai Phong city is making strong efforts to develop according to 3 economic pillars: high-tech industry, seaport-logistics, tourism -commerce; the city is focusing on expanding urban space, implementing the policy of promoting urban modernization and building new model rural areas..., so the power supply plays an important role and the demand for electricity is also constantly increasing rapidly.

Vice Chairman Le Anh Quan affirmed that the completion of the investment and energization of the Kien Thuy 110kV transmission line and transformer station project by the electricity sector has met the increasing demand for domestic and industrial loads in Kien Thuy district, ensuring the quality of power sources, reducing grid load and providing backup power for neighboring areas such as Do Son, Kien An, and Duong Kinh.

At the same time, the project also contributes significantly to gradually completing the planned power grid system, meeting the rapidly increasing demand for electricity as Hai Phong is actively implementing the Southern Coastal Economic Zone in this area - a project expected to create a breakthrough and stronger development of the Port City.
